I sincerely hope the club can successfully negotiate a payment plan with the taxman and that the legal action for the pensions money is directed where it should be - to your former owner, who clearly did not meet his financial responsibilities while in charge of Crusaders. Hopefully the RFL will step in and sort this out as things were just getting going with the Crusaders. It would not be just for the club to be undermined by its past that had nothing to do with the current setup.

I really enjoyed my visit to Wrexham last year. The fans were great and the team became very competitive. I really don't want anything bad to happen to the Crusaders.

Keeping everything crossed that this all gets sorted out satisfactorily!

Its a direct quote from the Union representative so probably fairly accurate.

Does it involve the deported the players? If so, it seems strange that the players' expect to get the pension payments that arise from contracts they were not allowed to have.

I'm now wondering if there's more to this than meets the eye. I actually bought a copy of the North Wales 'Daily Post' this morning and Wrexham FC is now up for sale, but NOT Wrexham Village of which it and (I think) the RL club are part. Also , to quote Ian Roberts:

This is a bit different to his statement yesterday about being 99% certain that the club would carry on!

On another note, the current Crusaders team did not receive a franchise for Superleague, that was given to Celtic Crusaders, who won their bid with their set up, location and ground. The new company will not have a franchise, as they will not have applied for one, but will play in Superleague next year.

And people wonder about the way Rugby league is run in this country????

and I wonder who they will screw next - aussies who did not have work permits and got banned from the UK then pensions of players - lets face it the owners of the crusaders really don't give a f*** for the game, the players or the fans
