| Ah well we seem to have touched a few nerves there then.
A civil question recieving abusive responses says it all.
Anyway enjoy your Superleague while it lasts i'm off to our 15,000 capacity state of the art stadium now to prepare for life in Championship 1.
Thank you and good night.

| Well I think only the RFL can say definitively why they gave us and Salford the Licence. we are both in areas not predominantly RL hotbeds, yes but we also have a sizeable support network and structure on which the club is supported and will be based in time, our current crop of kids have won national honours TWICE IN TWO YEARS, this will also have been a deciding factor.
I don't feel the need to fling dirt at other clubs, we know we have shortcomings and we will sort them out. So have the clubs in the Championships.
On the pitch neither Widnes or Featherstone are going great guns this season , I think Barrow deserve a chance at SL but then again another Cumbrian side Workington Town were in the first SL and it ruined the club.
It would be as much a risk to give a licence to Featherstone or Widnes as it was to give the Celtic Crusaders a licence. The RFL needs to sort itself out as much as we do
ITS ALMOST AS CORRUPT AS THE WRU!!!!!!!

Don't mis-quote or misrepresent my comments. You know I haven't said that. If you were to trawl this forum in the past (and I'm not suggesting for one moment thats how you should spend your time), you'd find many comments I've made re the crusaders youth set up. I know how good it is!!!
Quote: gutterfax "They didn't promise a state of the art sports stadium and they didn't (playing by the rules as the rfl laid them down) kick cr@p out of most of last years C1 teams? No their fault the UKBA decided to mess with the rules (and I still believe someone from the regions rejected MAY well have tipped off the UKBA anyway...)
'" Whether that's true or not we shall have to see. Having 6 players deported doesn't look good either way but it's an argument done to death. I don't see why a tip off should effect the legality or the correctness of the situation regardless of the origin of your comment.
FWIW - I still find the RFL's part in that fiasco scanalous.
Quote: gutterfax "
Also, as someone wisely pointed out on another thread, if the "heartland" clubs had paid more attention to their own houses over the preceeding 100+ years, you wouldn't have this problem. No point crying over spilt milk when it was spilt 50+ years ago!'"
True. The whole of RL has been repeatedly up creek numerous times over the last 50 years. Couldn't agree more. 2 things here. Nowadays only a few are given the 'lifeline' that SL represents. The rest aren't allowed in!!
The other about houses in order. The crusaders club will post some frightening numbers for this fiscal year and but for some timely intervention, were in queer street, Oblivionsville! That particular house was most definately NOT in order!!!
Not so next year I'll give you that. They will be a much stronger and much better financed side next year and the following years numbers should reflect that if the good people of Newport and the province wish to support the club!

| The RFL gave Celtic a franchise as an expanding region. There is a hotbed of Rugby talent that can be brought to league from Union in South Wales. And it makes more sence than bringing in French clubs as it can go a long way to expanding our National game be it Wales or GB.

| Can I just point something out here
Celtic crusaders have not produced any RL players at this moment , not one
They have convinced some reasonably decent quality rugby union players to try RL
There is a difference

Can i just point out the Obvious they have only been in around for is it 3 or 4 years not exactly sure on that one but i am sure someone can help there. It takes time to develop your own players they have started a youth setup and are bringing some reasonable young players on. The timescale for youth development is sign a young player at say 15 years old it takes 5 years to get him to the reserve team unless he is an outstanding talent you are talking on average 6 years to bring a player through. The Big clubs are signing youngsters at 12 or 13 years old.
Give the club a chance its still growing how long has Catalan been going now 6 or 7 years and they are not full of French players are they. Most of the Rugby league clubs have been going over 100 years. Even London has been going 12 years and how many Londoners are there in that side.
In 3 or 4 years time Celtic will be a top 6 Super League club give them chance to grow.

My post was not neccessarily a criticism , just an observation with regard to a previous post stating they had ' produced ' players that have won honours for the last 2 years

| We've PRODUCED Gil Dudson, Elliot Kear and Ashley Bateman.
Does it even matter whether we also convert Union boys such as Ben Flower?
Warrington CONVERTED Kevin Ellis and Alan Bateman (both from Bridgend CB) and RL also CONVERTED John Devereux (Bridgend CB) Scott Quinnell and Jonathan Davies.
We PRODUCE rugby players. Whether they switch codes later on is neither here nor there.
There is a name for what you do Starbug. They call it Thatcher's Blame.
It means we are damned in your eyes WHATEVER we do. You decide you hate us then squeeze the facts in to suit your preconceptions.
I KNOW your club didn't get into SL, but do you relly have to spend every waking moment having a pop at us? What if it WASN'T us who took "your" spot? What if it was Salford?

That is way too reasonable a response for Starbug, who is obsessed. I reckon Starbug is actually a closet Crusaders fan.

Amatuer clubs produce players , you give them somewhere to play for money
