| Quote: crucrucrusaders "I was at Treorchy ready for the match Sunday.
Crusaders U-18's wanted it, the ref wanted it on, for some reason Leigh Miners didn't. There was rumour it was due to the injuries picked up the Thursday previously in the derby game but still weird considering the distance traveled. Then again if the games get wavered as it looks they might a team wins the league without playing it's main rivals which is no way to win it in my opinion.
I think the question should be more one of what happened to Leigh Miners Rangers?'"
You are wrong, the ref wanted it on but at another venue apparently another hour away at least. With no guarantee of that pitch even being playable. LMR were only informed of the waterlogged pitch 35 minutes proir to kick off, which in my opinion is poor organisation. Plus the coach/driver were booked to be back home for a certain time. Considering the distance already travelled by LMR, the days the lads, parents and coaches booked off work, the expence paid by all, and the raising of sponsership money for the hotel stay. I can assure you that LMR did want it. It was in no way connected to the Thursday game, LMR had only 1 player unavailable. But then again LMR did have to play two games in a week as they have done on several occasions this year to avoid a backlog of fixtures (as have Leigh East). Maybe a lesson that Celtic could learn from perhaps. It may have appeared that LMR didn't want it to you because of the way that they were acting, but if you watch them before, after or at anytime other than playing, you would realise that they are a group of very laid back young men. They are confident in there ability and therefore do not always appear to be th most 'switched-on' team.
So in answer to your question "what happened to Leigh Miners Rangers?"
They travelled to Wales for a game of rubgy but were denied there opportunity, through nobodys fault. That said it must have been a sweet feeling yesterday, 36-10.

When all is said and done I am proud of our lads no matter what the rest of the season holds.
For the vast majority of our players this will be the first full season they have played rugby league, if at all. When looked at in that light it is a remarkable achievement.

they came up with the winning margin of 18-0 because celtic did not fulfil the fixture that the result given to any team that does not fulfil a fixture.
i think it disgusting that celtic are being aloud to play the game again, if it was any other team that FAILED to turn up for a fixture they would have been booted out of the league, but OH NO IT CELTIC CRUSADERS LETS BEND OVER BACKWARDS FOR THEM.
Now i have heard it all talk about talking crap.

| Talking crap?
Like i said any team who fail to turn up the result is given as 18-0.
The fact that the league let celtic play Leigh Miners after they failed to turn up was a disgrace, miners were already certain of top spot so the game was a dead rubber from the start. They could of played Leigh East but the league decided to give that game a result of 0-0 and from the two performances i have seen from celtic in the last couple of weeks leigh east would have beat celtic comfortably and probably made the playoffs.

What happened at our place then?
Surely if they would have beaten us easily up in Leigh they should have won comfortably in South Wales.
The fact is they never and it is history.
I've said once and I will say again. I am very proud of what has been achieved to date and anything else will be a bonus. When it comes down to it we have a team in its infancy who have beaten every team in the league except Leigh Miners at least once. We also know what happened with Bramley Buffaloes and the Colts last year too. The colts lost once home and twice away then cantered home in the final so if I were Leigh Miners I would not be counting my chickens just yet.

| miners wont be counting any chickens there a very good group of lads, so to think they would just turn up thinking they have already won when they are 2 games away from making it a perfect season of winning the national league and cup and going through all of the season unbeaten is rather silly, the miners have still got alot to play for and im sure if they go about there business like they have all season they will get there rewards at the end.
dont be counting your chickens you have got to win next week before you even think of winning a grand final

| johnny5, brickwall,
Thanks very much for coming on here and trying to label our young lads a disgrace.
It reminds me that though my experiences of rugby league have been broadly great, with friendly, reasonable and welcoming supporters, there are always s around too.
You seem to enjoy willy-waving at the moment because Leigh won and are confident that they will smite all before them and, as such, have decided it is safe to come out of the shadows to take a pop.
The Crusaders may well take a few years to build, but as Crucrucru says, most of our lads are in their first season of League (having been Union players last year). Given that fact, I suggest you get your childish digs in now, because when they are more used to the code, you're gonna have to spend a bit more time lurking or find a different side to gloat at. (that's you on the left)

Well done Miners on going so far unbeaten.
We don't count any chickens as there are always flat cappers who rubbish our achievements from grass roots up. All we know as a club is if Leigh Miners were in their first season at this level and finishing second they'd be crowing about it too. When it comes down to it given the position you are in and the age of the club you should be winning the Championship from this position. You were probably favorites for the title and Championship at the start of the season so have lived up to that tag up to now. We on the other hand would have been far from and have surpassed expectation in only our first season as the colts lads did last year. Just wonder what our Welsh kids can do if we actually get a bit of experience under our belts ay. I'm confident enough we can shake rugby league up if we get players into our set up early enough from a much larger pool of talent than any other rugby league club can call upon.

Well said CruCru..... our first season in the competition and we finish second. Given that the flat cappers feel we've got the RFL in our pocket I guess they think we control the weather also!!
First year doing well and the same for last year with the colts but again if you're not doing it in or around the M62 it's not noteable. Bloody upstarts getting a SL place and then getting junior teams that actually play well, who do we think we are eh?
