Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

| So i didnt know they been playing a celtic team for last 7 yrs (thats how long they been coming) and no we didnt stay about for the celtic first team as there was a free bar on at the riverside (my treat) whats the point in watching league for 3 yrs YES 3 YRS LS has siad himself cant see the new ground being built by the time the 3 yrs is up so will have to apply again and WHO's to say you will get it
and just to let you know ive watched 5 games there this year as i have other comitments
and on another note the been coming down for year even if Bramley, Leeds int playing
Quote: crucrucrusaders "Is it true they're only coming down for this one because Bramley aren't playing a Crusaders team of any description this year.
Ah well, their loss if they won't hop on a train for a couple of quid and a few hours and miss out on a weekend. What's more you were only coming for the one game as your mates were down. I'd prefer die hards than once a season wonders who only comes because his mates are down. And it would only be once this year because Bramley aren't playing as these fellas didn't hang around last year for Crusaders 1st's game and I very much doubt if you did if you were with them.'"

So they come down even if Crusaders-Leeds aren't playing. Why have so many pulled out if they would have come down regardless?
This group, which you are making a song and dance about, saw no Celtic Crusaders game when they were down last year.
And now you are not coming to Crusaders games any more because it has been moved to Newport. If you will stop supporting a club over something as small as this then we don't need fans like that. If indeed they can be called fans at all. Fan is a shortened version of fanatic. Yeah, fanatical until the game is taken a short train ride away.
I'm all for welcoming fans with open arms but throwing your dummy out of the pram for one game being taken on the road is pathetic.

So our ground will not be built by the end of the three years so we won't get a licence.
You can add to that list the Saints, Cas, Wakefield, Salford. They all have new grounds in the pipeline that will not be finished.
Not going to be much of a Super League is it going on your judgement?

Right, not far then.
I live a mile or so from there.
Just off Cromwell Road if you know it.

You didn't say finished in the original post did you.
I doubt we'll be the only ones with no ground started when the next 3 year Super League licences are up for grabs so there goes the argument once more.
Haven't you got better things to do....like go on the Leeds site and ask them to stop in a pub in Bridgend when the game is on. Oh and by the way, where is the Linttern Tree?

Well, for one, Saints' playing record and youth development will keep then safe come what may. But even so...
...roll on Halifax, Widnes, Leigh, Tolouse Olympique and Whitehaven. Three heartland clubs with decent grounds, a second international club and a Cumbrian franchise (or pick your own alternatives, if yo don't like mine). I think SL would survive. I'm pretty sure, too, so would Cas, Saints, Wakefield and Salford.
What about Crusaders?
--
I know I will be accused of being faceios, but it's a genuine question which articulates my concerns if the RFL have got it wrong this time around. And, for the record, I do hope you get your ground and your fanbase up in time to keep your franchise. But what if you don't?

| We'll be alright. Don't you worry about us and get your own house in order ready for it.
I am confident we can get another one and there is a lot to be done and rugby to be played in between.
We got virtually 3,000 home fans for our last home game against a team many hadn't heard of and with us being bottom of the league. I think we can push on from here.

| Hope you're right Crucru.... I know we've not always seen eye-to-eye, but I do actually think we want broadly the same things..
...the question still remains, though, do you think CC could survive if they had to take a spell back in the national leagues? 3000 fans + a Championship Colts team suggests you could...

Yes but would the fans take the drop back down, I doubt it.
If we did drop down and wanted to be realistic about survival we would have to bring the local lads from the reserve set up and see how they do. That would be the only way of surviving, in my opinion.
I am confident we can make a go of it and we have a few aces in the pack as a few grounds of union clubs have contacted Crusaders to play games their. That is the advantage over other clubs as our eggs are not all in one basket. We have a new stadium in the pipeline but as you have been pointing out there is a ground at Cardiff Arms Park, Newport, Swansea Llanelli etc etc that are just the right size and would suit us perfectly. If, for example your Castleford or Wakefield go back to the rfl when the franchises are up again I don't think they have much going for them outside of the new grounds. If they don't happen they have no other option or very limited at least. With Crusaders we have a safety net of grounds that would cry out for our team to play there if the Crusaders approached them.
