| My first trip to the Racecourse in 9 years, see some things has changed in getting the structures up to scratch. Good crowd considering the date and KO time and the Wire fans made plenty of noise, good acoustics with the angled roof in the Away stand there. Atmosphere was OK the announcer did the best to gee up the crowd if a bit unoriginal, we had a loud hardcore set of fans in South Wales with a half decent repertoire of songs. Surprised to be singing the National Anthem before a SL match, is that a regular occurrence?? Not the best quality in terms of play and to lose both two influential play makers in Thomas and Withers before the match even started really didn't help matters. What Thackeray is useful for is anyone's guess at the moment. The main Press area was very exposed to the spitting rain and gale passing through which wasn't helpful when trying to compile a match report either.
All in all though a good experience and Im glad the people up there are taking to League as I thought North Wales would never be able to support a professional top level side in any sport.

| There were a fair few Wire fans. Probably outnumbered Cru fans. 3k Wires easily top block was full with a couple of hundred on either side. Very vocal too. You won't see a bigger number at there this season.
We have the best away following in the league. FACT.

I agree.
I went to watch Celtic v Leeds Rhinos at Rodney Parade last year.
I cant work out which was my favourite Crusaders song.
'Cru Cru Crusaders' (repeated about 7 times)
or maybe it was 'Sheep sheep sheep shaggers' (repeated about 9 times)
Did it take the Crusaders fans long to think those up?? They are works of art arent they.
Maybe when Carol Anne Duffy retires as Poet Laureate you could all apply for the job?

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

Were you actually there Barry?
We didn't sing Cru Cru Crusaders until this season so you're way off the mark if you heard it at Rodney Parade.
You've got a cheek to have a go at any British atmosphere when your average NRL ground has the atmosphere of a village fete. Not a very large village fete either.
