Around 800 tickets were sold this Monday giving the Crusaders a new record crowd four days before kick-off! It will also be a record rugby league crowd for the ground itself beating the 6,373 fans who turned up to watch an exciting Wales v England match in Wrexham in 2001 which saw England win 42-33, the last rugby league match to be played at The Racecourse before this week's much anticipated encounter.
Last week, ticket sales had already topped the 5,597 crowd figure for last year's encounter with Leeds Rhinos in Newport as well as last year's well-publicised engage Super League home opener in Bridgend that drew 5,272 fans to a classic match against Hull FC.
Crusaders' previous home record crowd was 6,351 against St Helens in Bridgend last year. That is now gone and the only question now is how high it is going to rise.
The club are sending out a message saying "Don't wait until the day before buying your tickets. If they carry on selling at this rate, you may be disappointed." '"
Fantastic news, should be a great evening. Hopefully many of the fans will return for future games.

Barrow for Super League 2015: |
|
| If they can't sell a home match against the Super League Champions in the first ever SL match at Wrexham, then ther really would be little hope for the clubs future.
I can think of at least 5 clubs in the Championship who would attract 8,000+ crowds for such a fixture.

| At the moment its 10,500 because the terrace is closed, but with the terrace it would be 15,500.

I hope you aren't including Halifax in the 5 as recent history would prove otherwise!

Apparently it will less then 10,500 because some seats are closed for safety, sky camera men etc! Duno how many but i hope it tops 10k after all the hype.

| Yeah, brilliant news. You'll be pleased to hear that Turner predicetd a sell-out for OUR inaugural match against Leeds LAST year.
What you need to know is that Turner considers the thousands of speculative free tickets for schools he has issued as "sales".
And what ELSE you need to consider is that Turner NEEDS the move back to "heartlands adjacent" to be a success for him to keep his job. After selling us in South Wales down the river he will be heavily spending Moss' money to promote the game like he never bothered to do with us.
Enjoy MY club Gogs. I put a lot of hard work into it.

| Just for the record,
Turner didn't put the club up for sale, the owner did.
The owner wouldn't accept an offer from a South Wales consortium to keep the club in the South
Moving to Wrexham saved the club from going out of existence.
..........and it does seem that Wrexham are starting to make a good job of it from all accounts from what I have seen and read

| Just for the record,
Still just speculation Port.
This is not the same club. Different owner, name, badge, location, coaching staff, company, most of the team. Yet they have our franchise spot.
It does SEEM that the gogs are making a go of it. But it SEEMED the same last year.
Same old lies about being a sell-out match. Remember Turner said the EXACT SAME THING last year about our first match against Hull FC. What was the final attendance? 6,500-ish I recall.
He is counting the thousands of freebie tickets he has given to local schools.
Perhaps it will be a success. But it seemed so last year when the CELTIC Crusaders started in Superleague.

Just for the record you never had a franchise spot.
If there had have been one available it could have gone any one of three clubs.
And what thousands of free tickets is this its not Widnes you know
