Is there a single coach in the Elite currently trying something different in terms of returning a team to a more traditional French style of play? One based around continuity and passing the ball for instance?

Dumas always seems a good bet for this style...but obviously he is not coaching in the Elite at the moment.

Anyone else with such a view?

Dumas has been a disaster this season - his style of coaching is outdated and the training methods are a joke - please,please someone in the Elite take M.Dumas and lets get in a more progressive coach at TO !

Dumas is a coach of the old school. He's been way too conservative this season and I hate to say it about a bona fide treiziste legend, but it's time to move on. I think he'd make a great sporting director with a new man at the helm. Who that might be, however, is a different matter. I've been pushing all year for James Wynne, but there are others around I wouldn't mind. Patrick Albérola for one.

JW would be the ideal choice for me at the moment though maybe Julien Rinaldi would be a possible after his SL days are finally over ?

Anyone with fresh ideas would do for me.

The Carcassonne versus Baho friendly the other week showed a new style from the Canaries under Luc Mendes. Only a friendly I know, played in four quarters, but there was a step change in their approach from last year with off loading and movement of the ball being the order of the day. Much like Limoux last year. Anything but the dull as ditchwater approach from Carca and FCL last year.... Long may it continue.

Villeneuve tried offloading and long passing under Julien R and looked great at times though were frequently caught out by inaccurate passing (losing Chris Feather for many of their games didn't help),but at least they tried to be more enterprising - pity JR won't be there this season to continue the trend...
Of the LER matches I watched last season most were bog standard fare,here's hoping for more enterprise this time around.
