As a DoF, absolutely. Not sure he's coach material any more though. I'd like it to be someone young, dynamic and forward-thinking, but that might be a pipe-dream. And again, I don't know of anyone who particularly fits that bill.

That is why I am surprised he has gone.

Unless Guisset and Bosc have come across so well in their work under the first team that the club felt it had to get them in place?

Mick Potter and Scott Dureau are both assistant coaches at Newcastle. I could see them being interested.

Scott Dureau is probably too young and too close to some of the players to exercise strong authority.

Mick Potter has been there before and took the team to Wembley, so I think he would be a better pick.

Not at all set in stone. Being in the league weekly doesn't make it true- otherwise Danny brough would have played at 5 different clubs in the last two years!
Interesting one: Brett Hodgson has a house in France- his family are living there and he travels across from his job at Widnes. Now surely he'd be interesting in joining his wife and kids- he will speak French, and has a lot more to offer than macnamara IMO.
