No you wouldn't, watch the game back!
The key moment was Dureau missing his attempt at goal and Child awarding (justly) a penalty to Catalan for the Leigh water carrier bringing on a kicking tee. Why bring on a kicking tee and take it behind the posts and not to the half-way line?
Stupid idea from Millward or the water carrier and in the end, IMO cost you the game.
Made me laugh when Millward spoke about second half completion rates at the end, he said both sides were around 70-80%, errrr wrong mr Millward, Catalans completion rate in the second half was 57%, and never looked like being above that figure.

He gave the penalty for a late challenge after the Catalans try I think mate.

Mr Childs performance wasn't the reason we lost , but it was the usual bizarre pedantic display we are used to seeing from him , the Catalans were lucky to get the win and will not face a better aggressive defensive display than they did last night , a bit more composure and the bounce of the ball and we would have won

Yes, he penalised Donlan for the challenge - surprising really as Donlan is a very slight figure, who is usually on the receiving end of such treatment.

Agreed Steve - a lack of composure let us down. Specifically when Maden chose to move inside just as Donlan passed to him on the wing for what was a walk-in, and when Chris Hill juggled the ball and dropped it over the line.
Ah well, c'est la vie, as we say in Leigh.

I think you need to watch the game again. It was Child awarding an 8 pointer, won`t see another one of those for another 20 years.

It was a penalty for foul play on JP Baile after his try. I've already seen this penalty in 2007 or 2008, at Stade Gilbert Brutus, for the Wakey game. (Scott Grix hit Justin Murphy with his knee after the try).

Suprised this hasn't been mentioned a bit more Alan, if Maden had stayed out wide we'd have been 16-0 up, 5 minutes later it was 10-4. Massive turning point, I said it at the time. You have to take EVERY chance against a SL team of Catalans quality.

Both he & Casty are out for Friday night due to knee injuries, highly unlikely to have Menzies or Millard back & there is doubt about the fitness of Dureau

| Bah, we never win at Headingly.
Will be interesting to see the King back in his rightful role, will he re-claim the throne I wonder?
