I am quite optimistic for next season having seen how well some of the younger players are developing. This World Cup is going to do wonders for Thibault Margaret, Nabil Djaout & Belmas.
A return to fitness for Simon & Maria will give the squad much more depth imo.

I fear that the world cup has exposed the dire state of French rugby league.

It's certainly exposed the lack of depth. And the flaws in a coach who hasn't had experience outside of LER - I mean, the defensive set-up is appalling and invites pressure on.
But, fundamentally, we need more players to pick from. Without that, you could have a wheel of camembert as coach and achieve the same results.

There are also of course some experienced players-Casty ,Bosc ,Gigot from last time who are missing.Nonetheless there is a presumption amongst too many of our supporters that we should immediately use more French players ,who play with passion and emotion-unlike L'etrangers who play with reasoned calculation-. We used a large number of French players during our darkest hours last summer and got slaughtered.In the longer term our u19 team may gradually begin to solve the problem.Meanwhile Pelissier has shown just why he should never be allowed back.

only 7 players back training for the first day of pre season, i no we have alot at the world cup but still.. signs of why our fitness is so bad right there.

French site has lots of rumours and opinions.It looks as if Bousquet is staying and some want him to play second line.I think he was an average second line when he played there last season.Still no definite news about Baitieri and Inu.I thought that Garcia,whom I have slated in the past, played well in the match against England and that Albert showed that he should be given a chance at half back.

Albert is the future.

Looks like Luke Burgess has gone to Salford. Safe to say we didn't see the best of him.
