I honestly did not think anyone would ever take my post as meaning that I literally do not watch half the defensive sets, but ok. I never questioned that Sa makes a reasonable amount of tackles, his workrate in defence isn't particularly above or below average so doesn't really require comment. What's more important is the fact that he continually makes poor decisions in both attack and defence and regularly causes problems for the team with absolutely stupid play. Apart from the fact that he was supposed to be a flair player and has shown virtually nothing in attack since joining, the fact that he does the expected defensive work doesn't excuse the mistakes he makes, IMO. There are hundreds of players who could contribute their share of defence without doing the stupid things that Sa does.

Not a bad turnout from Salford - good humoured bunch spoiled only by a few dozen who failed to respect the Catalan anthem - as I said,a good bunch who seemed to take the defeat really well, realising they had been beaten by the stronger side

some good performances from the lads and difficult to pick out a MOM but I thought Bosc was awesome at FB and Fakir very solid in the middle - good to se Simon back on the field

Again, if you knew as much about the game as you suggest you would probably see that Catalan already have a lot of flair type players. Maybe there are better equipped players to supply flair and as such Sa has adapted his game to suit the team.

OK, so what you are saying is that a player purposely isn't going to attack as well as he can, is going to make poor decisions and isn't going to fulfil the role that he was signed to play because he thinks that there are other players in the team who may have more 'flair' than him. This despite the fact that on several occasions he has been played in a position where he has been required to step up and dicate play and has failed to do so, and on numerous other occasions he has been played in a strike position and has largely failed to provide any sort of impact. I bet you are one of these people who thinks that the role of a coach is to pick a team and tell them to go out and play well.

wrong ! many people are intersted in the form and qualty of specific players - FWIW I think Sa hasn't fulfilled his promise mainly due to a bad start under Walters as part of the undercurrent of misbehaviour and indeiscipline within the squad at the time.Don't think he's really knuckled down under Robinson realising his place is now under serious threat.
