I attended this chaotic game .In essence incredible Hull errors cost them dearly whereas we were severely punished for selecting a prop at centre-does Tonga still play for us?.We could and perhaps should have lost.Marks out of 10 Escare 4 -they simply ran through most of his tackles- Inu 7 Gigot 7 Garcia 3 Sigismeau 5 Dureau 7 Bosc 7 Bousquet 7 Elima 6 Henderson 8 Anderson 8.5 Whitehead 8 Baitieri 5 Plus Maria 6 and Perez 5.The sunny weather helped and not one high ball was dropped.

We've finally cured the away day blues. Fully expect us to kick on from here and make the top four.

Further thoughts on the selection of a prop at centre.Does anybody know why Tonga,Yaha,and Oldfield do not seem to have been available for selection?Alternatively would it not have been better to play Robin at halfback and Bosc on the wing yesterday. I know that we won-and for some that is all that counts-but there is no escaping the fact that we were very lucky.
Goodbye to some great Dragons players -Whitehead ,Dureau and Henderson- who all performed well yesterday.Finally -and I know some people do not like to face up to this-the defensive work of Escare was again very poor.Unless he improves substantially -and I don't think he can-we shall not make the top 4 with him on the team.

Yaha and Oldfield are both crocked, pretty sure Tonga is as well.

Tonga isn't injured I don't think. Think he may be leaving. Oldfield was de registered to get Inu in I think and yeah Yaha is injured. I also think your been a bit harsh to Escare at full back. Defence doesn't really matter that much, I think you may be putting a little too much emphasis on it.

Oldfield was de-reg'd when he got injured wasn't he?

We got a cryptic tweet from him and then he went off touring Europe before going home.

Can't remember re Oldfield. He's in the Tonga squad for the internationals though.

I think that defence is the most important part of the game.I also think that Escare is by far the worst defensive full back in superleague and that all our opponents being well aware of this target him.He is poor under the high ball ,a weak tackler ,and is not able to read a game. I know that he scores some exceptional tries , but he does far more harm than good.

How do you target a full back in defence?

Whitehead was exceptional by the looks of it. Garcia got shown up in the centre bless him haha

How is Escare targeted?
A, High balls sent to wherever he is standing
B Tough tackles when he runs the ball out defence and never passes
C Kicks between the centre and the winger in the certain knowledge that Escare will not read the move and get across -in the recent Wigan game this led to 2 tries and would have led to a third if Sigismau of all people had not done Escare's job and covered right across the field
D when 5 metres from the Catalan line direct the attack to wherever Escare is.
Escare reminds me of Jamie Foster a St. Helens wonder boy who was found out in defence and ditched
