just got back from a cold Lezignan which saw another convincing display from the champions inspired yet again by Nathan Wynn with Tony Duggan playing again at scrum half with Jye Mullane doing another fine job at FB - ok,all aussies with great contributions from the other 'etrangers' ie big Phil & Andrew Bentley but this was another convincing team performance with good contriutions from Piqeumal,Cardace,Michaud & co. - UTC did ok and looked threatening for the first hour of the game with some clever runs from probably the quickest man in LER young Morgan Escaré who looks to be in the Sam Tomkins mould plus fine individual performances from David Guasch,Eloi Pelissier, Nauroy & Julien Touxagas - Escaré looks a good player with a big future in the game - remember folks, you heard it here first ! Watched by none other than TR himself plus Mr Guasch senior who was not a happy bunny to see his young charges in both games outplayed by superior opposition. He was quite abusive and a very bad loser,he was a few seats away and was even quite rude to my good lady who succeeded in preventing falling down the steps of the stand. Caught up with OE who starts training at the Bulls on december 1st.He reallly is looking forward to the challenge of not only life back in england but also with a new set of players plus of course being reunited with MP.Good luck to him, can't think of too many more polite men in the game. Two entertaining games tho' the highlight has to be the moment when BG passed by OE on the way out, totally ignoring each other tho' with OE looking like he was dying to deck the little fat frenchman.TR seemed happy enough with the proceedings and says initial training is going ok and is relishing the challenge of next season. He is a down to earth sort of guy and very approachable - let's hope BG leaves him to do his job.By the way,he watched the whole game from the stand on the centre line ! NOT from behind the posts......

Well done Sanj. Can't see the little bulldog leaving TR do his thing without sticking his nose in !

Lezignan definitely looks the goods to be there again come finals time. Am looking forward to the Pia game on the 21st & seeing the Bentley boys play against each other for the 1st time

I can see FCL doing an 'Arsenal' and not losing a match all season, especially with Mathieu Griffi still to come ! my only concern is a lack of pace at the back - imagine Escaré at FB for FCL ? they would be pretty unbeatable even at CC level, let alone LER IMO !

re - the Pia game - I spoke with Andrew and asked him that very question ! ie playing against Kane - he's not looking forward to it at all ! in fact,I wouldn't be surprised if he picked up a mystery injury for that match ! He doesn't even think their dad will be present as he would find it to difficult to watch ! serious stuff eh ? just imagine a punch-up between the two teams on the pitch ?
Also had a chat with Tony Duggan and asked him about news of the possible winding up of Crusaders - I can't repeat his words which were mostly of Anglo-Saxon origin !!! but suffice it to say,he is still owed money by them (pension payments etc) and a big problem for him personally - another really nice guy who deserves a better deal IMO.He is still nursing a groin strain which has kept him away from the FB position. As I said previously,Jye did a good job at FB especially with the likes of Escarés pace & Guaschs' clever kicking to contend with.

Got the limoux ASC score through.

20 - 16 at one point ASC were 16 points down and couldhave won it!

Another impressive display by Lezignan yesterday before a good sized crowd winning 60-30 after leading 42-12 at halftime. Pia, despite being deprived of several key players showed that when they are back to full strength they will certainly be there come finals time.

Hey Sanj, hope the missus recovers well. Yeah was strange seeing them play on opposite sides. Kane played halfback & did a good job & Andrew came on after 20min & played his usual high workrate match but strangely enough they only came into contact with each other once during the whole game, Andrew making the softest tackle ever on his little brother! icon_lol.gif

How did Nathan play ? (he said he was brilliant !) did Tony D revert back to FB ?

we were originally hoping to get down to the France A game but that's not now possible - I can see Bobbie packing it in if the little fatman in Perpignan carries on like this !

the missus had an 'occlusion' or constricted bowel on thursday morning on the site of a previous cancer tumour op in 2005 - the emergency op was successful and should be back in action in a couple of weeks - she's started nagging me already so that's a positive sign at least.........

Haha, if nagging is a sign of recovery then my missus has never ever been ill in her life!!!

Winny was good as always & TD was excellent from fullback picking up 4 meat pies. As you know this is a very good, balanced Lezignan side & have some good juniors coming through. Lets just hope theres a chance of them playing in the championship sometime in the near future.

yeh,get the ritual ear-bashing most days ! just taking advantage of a fw more days peace & quiet indoors before the boss gets back...

FCL are too good for this division obviously and Championship rl has to be on the horizon but just imagine the furore along the M62 corridor if the RFL approuves & funds/supports such a move - the flack is bad enough from the opponents of TO !

Read the comments on "SW Scorpions withdraw from 2011 NRC!" forum in 'The Virtual Terrace' and get some idea of the opposition especially from my sparring partner Starbug
