On another note I actually thought the ref favoured Les Cats, until they started bitching over some of his decisions.

A: Indeed, more sensationalist journalism rather than factual. Comments taken out of context etc.
B. It is and unlike followers of the UK clubs who have one away day in France and can use it as a mini holiday, you have the daunting task of 13 trips to the UK.
C. Why??? The standard of refereeing that is slowly killing the game as a sporting contest and making it more of a lottery?

My issue is not with referees but the current rules and the fact that the two major leagues in the world operate to different codes. The referees are, I think, in an impossible position at the moment and the rulebook needs a thorough going over to make life for referees, players, fans and administrators easier and restore the sport's USP of simplicity.
My issue with not enjoying the game is more to do with the increased parochialism which just spoils things. This isn't recent - it's something I've been feeling more and more since about 2004 or 2005 - but I really just can't be bothered with it any more. Whether the casual xenophobia in relation to all things Catalan is part of it, I don't know, but perhaps I notice things more when in a group of half a dozen compared to a couple of thousand.
