i dont know who langworthy think they are, they won a couple of games at the begining of the season and they've started to get ahead of them selves abit. like i said before they should just be happy that they have the privilige to be playin in division 3, and as for the the this mon blaming the 'ref' he doesnt put the ball over the line for them and if you was as good as you said u are your defence would stop them scoreing.

was a good game to watch on saturday ( SV vs Irlam ) shame about some ref decisions but was a good game... how irlam lost i do not know but all credit to SV who held on . . . very phsyical side are irlam and you could tell at the end SV looked out of steam

good game to watch - Agreed,
ref decisions - (if you think high tackles shouldn't be penalised) Agreed,
SV hanging on - SV were in full control throughout the game and never looked like losing
Irlam very physical side - Agreed,
SV looking ut of steam - The only side I saw looking out of steam were the ones giving penalty after penalty after penalty
I think you'll find that to be a more accurate account if you take your blinkers off . . !

Irlam didn't do themselves any favours with the referee on Saturday in fairness....and your right, Irlam are a big set....But D was a massive part of that victory and has built a platform for us in most of our games. We were the first to admit in the changing room after the game we weren't at our best, but if teams can't score against us....teams can't beat us

. That philosophy has just won Wigan the Super League. I think if we had been a bit smarter near the Irlam line we could have notched a few more scores up, but hey ho, I'd have took 18-8 before the game.

We had a few missing on Saturday and once again....lads who last season were playing under 18 footy stepped up to the plate, 3 in total in the starting 13.



Looking forward to the return fixture, but up until then we will have to be at our best every week, because I cannot see Irlam dropping many points between now and then. Langworthy V Irlam on Saturday should be tasty!

SV was stuck in there own half and irlam didnt take chances .... should be a good game (the return one) good luck to both teams all season

To be fair irlam played the worse i have seen them play for a long time .
Spring views tatics of getting players to lie on the floor to stop play on every set stopped the flow of the game imho.
But there is no bitterness because at the end of the day we seem to get better as we go along, just ask your new springs players you have from last season .
Also with no regular half backs for irlam the organisation was pretty clueless.
The Return fixture will show a proper account of irlams team .
By the way it was 18-10 The loose forward kicked a goal from the touchline if you dont remember.

i have seen springview a few times over the lat 6 months or so and let me tell you i haven't seen many amateur teams with a defence likes theres. Very difficult to penetrate down the middle with a pack that domiante teams both goin forward and in defence. if saturday was anything to go by I honestly cant see many teams getting anything out of springview, i cant see them coming up against many bigger sides, having said that irlams attacking creativity was nothin special in my opinion. Springs were totally dominant in defence and a credit to them.

from a neutral perprective...most of irlams tackling was inept with no technique which may explain the high shots, following in with the knees, flopping, 3rd man in, etc etc, which caused the stoppages in play with Springs players getting knocks.....if you want a free flowing game. CLEAN UP YOUR DEFENCE IRLAM.

No mate, I was the one marking the stats sheet every time your guys gave a penalty away.But hey, if you fancy bringing me a pint over when we come to your place I wouldn't say no . . . I might even return the gesture
