As with us I think Irlam can beat anyone in this league on there day.....should be a good game! Gna be an interesting board on Saturday night looking at the fixtures, all tough calls, got love this league this year, even tho I did have a pop early doors re walkovers!!....were looking like we should have a few big game players back Saturday, will defo be a tough at finch, always are good hard games!

Hindpool 10 HFH 10

I am absolutely delighted with this result, we had 15 players missing from last week and only had 9 lads at 11am.

I ended up pulling a jersey on along with 2 other HFH master players to go on the bench.

We defended for our lives on our try line and completed 28 successive tackles before the break and kept the Tigers out.

We also played 70 mins with 12 men as one of our lads got red carded for a spear tackle, hope the lad is ok, as our lad who was involved isn't a bad lad, just made a daft mistake and held his hands up.

Top of the league with a well earned week off to get some of our lads back for Heysham the week after.

Great effort from Halton. How we never won that game I will never know. You lads hardly had the ball but like you say your defence was awesome and our constant panic rugby never helped us.
Player has been checked out at the hospital and will be ok. Tackle was a bad one but there was no malice intended.

Irlam beat ulv think it was 30-16... Good hard game ulv were winning at half time and should of gone on to win it but we went to in the second half didn't complete one set of six in the first 15 mins of the second half! But well done to irlam gd luck for rest of the season

Great effort yesterday from the boys, Haresfinch are a massive set and play it down the middle allot so our fellas had to dig in at times, our trys came on the back of some fantastic rugby and in the heat 1-17 deserve a pat on the back, some big performances!

Sorry to orrell for yesterday. 11 lads turned up to find that 2 lads have gone to st annes 1 as quit and another 2 r on their hols and the coach for under 18s wont let em play for us even with their game called off this week.

so all together thats, 7 to st annes, 3 av quit and 3 are injured

Im sorry higgyforlife but it annoys me this, the whole point of having a under 18's side is so that they are ready to take the step up to the open age first team, if the under 18's coach wont let you use the under 18's players he should be spoken too, the highest level at higgy is the first team so players are supposed to be called up to that team.
its like a 16 yr old playing academy rugby at oldham then the first team calling him up and the academy coach saying no you cant use him, im pretty sure he would be collecting his p45 up instantly !!!

no one gives a about us now, our coach turns up 1/2 times per month due to bein a policeman plus no one else will coach us in oldham its getting to the point were we are gonna fold, .

EVEN saddleworth,st annes and waterhead 2nd teams are struggling to get players it just seems one one cares about rugby down here anymore.

We have told our chairman to have a word with the under 18s coach but like i said one one gives a SHIT!!!!!!

Think its gonna be a matter of makin the best with what u have this year higgy, HFH is right tho bud as long as u have a core group of lads that do give a then u will be ok, might be a case dropping down, consolidate this year and bring the young through nxt year, but its at times like this ur young lads need to see the likes of yourself biggin the place up, glass has always gotta look half full to the young lads. Chin up pal.

Correct. If the open age team folds then the u18 lads who want to play rugby in a year will have to look for another club.

I was lucky enough not ot be needed as we had enough for our 1st and 2nd teams. I was bringing the water on and I was bloody goot at it aswell.
I was planning on not playing this season but got roped in for first game as we were short. Dont really get time to train with looking after my lad and my partners daft shifts. Starting to get itchy feet now though so you may get to see my silky skills in sunny Widnes in December.
