| Quote: JTB "Mancunians have been confirmed as withdrawing from the league this morning. They put themselves in a false position 'winning' the regional conference last year as they had 2 clubs forced out of the play offs that they hadn't beaten in the regular season by whining to the league management to enforce a by-law that is usually disregarded. I would very rarely wish to see an amateur club struggle in this way but on this occasion I'm afraid they and their self-agrandising chairman have received everything that was due to them.'"
I don't agree with most of this, but I particularly take issue with this so called 'false' position. Mancunians RL in 2010 has over 70 players training over the season, fielded a team for all our RLC Regional games and posted some good results. Let's put to one side the issue of the league rules on play-off qualification being enforced that we clearly won't agree on. Based on 2010, we clearly deserved to be promoted to the Prem.
As it turns out, 2011 in the RLC has been pretty much a disaster as results and our withdrawal from the league attest. There are reasons for this but we are not blaming anyone else and we do not wish ill of any other clubs. All we want is to get a game on every Saturday like everyone else.

| I see Liverpool beat Widnes. What's happened to West Bank this season?
Also, anybody know what happened to Wigan v East Lancs?

East Lancs gave the game last Monday, as they did their fixture at Wigan earlier in the season. 6 game league season this year, beyond lame.

| It's a real shame. East Lancs had loads of players in the Merit League last year and looked like they would have gone pretty well in NW Prem.

Last year they had some lads from West Craven Warriors with players from the ru club they are based at and they were a good outfit. They've had a change in management and that might have had an effect on numbers/quality/experience. The lad who was running them originates from Widnes hence the Vikings tag.

| And now West Bank have pulled out of the league. After assurances that this years Prem would not descend to the farce that was last season at the Riversiders we have had 5 fixtures all season, the rest conceded. We've had 2 home games. It's scarcely worth bothering all the organisation as a club for this.

<insert witty comment when applicable>: |
|
| It could be to do with West Bank being accepted into the National Conference, and needing to restructure what their first and second teams are doing at what seems pretty short notice. Obviously someone from West Bank would be able to confirm or deny the restructuring part.

Dave, with your 2nds playing our B side tomorrow (Ashton Bears) in the merit league, your 1st team lads are more than welcome to enter a team(s) in out Touch rugby competiton tomorrow if they fancy it? Team/individual player registration is 11am, RFL run, refs provided, bbq & beers served all day.
Not the real thing but better than not playing I'd say. Our 1st team squad have entered 2 teams along with one from our newly formed u18's so it should be a decent cmpetition.

| Just seen this pal sorry. The sheer frustration of the whole situation is causing most of the players to walk away to be honest. I'd be throwing the towel in completely if it wasn't for this promised shake-up. No doubt the new structure will collapse like a pack of cards at some point as well.
