Ashton Bears A V Blackbrook A - Ashton Bears play on a wide pitch and thats benefitting Blackbrook. Blackbrook all the way.

Blackpool Scorpians A V Chester - Next to Blackbrook, I can see chester the team to beat. Doing Very well This year.

Culchet v Leigh East A - Culcheth just havent turned up this year, Leigh East have been Hit and miss But i expect a Leigh East Victory.

Folly Lane A V Accrington Panthers - Folly have produced some good resuklts this year as well as panthers. Tough one but i will go for Folly For the Win.

Halton Simms Cross A V Fitton Hill - Just nothing Seem to be going right so far for Fitton Hill. i think Simmies Will be Far To Strong For them.

Little Hulton V Widnes West Bank A - Little Hulton Just havent produced nothing special this year. WWB have had some good results, But after last weeks defeat they will be out to put things write.

Rochdale Cobras A V Irlam Hornets A - I expected High things for Rochdale at the beginning of the year but they just cant seem raise a team due to the First. but if they manage get a squad then easy win for Cobras.

Don't know where you've got that from, they've only lost half of their six games all season.

Fourth from bottom on points difference with half the league, and have only lost 50% of their matches. For a team that was put together weeks before the league began they're on for a mid table finish.

Ashton Bears A 12-42 Blackbrook A.

Ashton went down to their first loss of the season to a skillful Blackbrook side. Ashton gifted the game to Brook in the opening 25 with mistake after mistake which Brook ruthlessly capitalised on with scores, always the sign of a good side. Every time Ashton got into a scoring position a dropped ball, mistimed pass gave possession back, on one occassion on the 3rd repeat set. Turning round 28-0 down Ashton finally came to life and made big in roads into Brooks defence and went over with a deserved try. Ashtons rejigged defence kept tabs on the visitors skillful half-backs and dominated large parts of the half, breaking the strong Brook defence with another sweeping move. Another Ashton mistake saw Brook score a breakaway try and right at the death another Ashton dropped ball saw the winger scoot over to finish the score at 42-12. Credit to Brook because the best team deservedly won on the day and on this performance its hard to see past Blackbrook as champions of this division but Ashton took a lot from the game especially the 2nd half which finished 14-12.

This was a bit of a reunion game as well with both coaches meeting up again 29 years after playing in the same open age side!

Yeah, didnt play for 2nds this week, neither did 8 of our main lads, ended up with 11 men playing hear. to be fair only two what you would call 2nds played for 1sts!!.....all i can say is when we have the boys its good....when we dont its...er...not!!!
