No one want games called off but big pat on backs to Hindpool for giving us plenty of notice that the game couldn't go ahead.

Seems I been a bit premature calling it off. it has hardly rained since I made the call and pitch is playable now. Should have had more faith in the new drains we had put in. Pretty disappointed now cos we had a full squad out for the first time this season.

Just found this thread and have to say that the ref for the Ulv v SV game was the worst referee I have ever seen at ANY level.

It is a good job the 2 sides have a mutual respect for each other and that the game was played in the best of spirits. Somebody would have seriously been hurt......and someone will definatley be seriously hurt if he officiates another game. Spoilt the game and allowed playersmouthing in his ear to influence his decisions...Poor !

Higginshaw 16-26 langworthy reds, another good win for us on a difficult pitch and against a big pack, the hill before and after the game wasn't good though!! Hard place to go is higginshaw!! Good effort by all our lads, bring on buttonwood bridge next week!!!

Correct. South Ribble Council called off the pitches early yesterday. They were fine this morning.

to be honest mate think if the call had to be made on Friday then alot more teams in all Divisions would have been off with the rain it put down!!!!!had a look at ours Sat afternoon and we could off probably let our 2nds play on it...

Id just like to thank the Pilks fellas who I was in communicado with at around 11am giving me directions so I could take the game in.....one man and his dog when I got there, Games off son!...nice one!

Both Irlam 1st and 2nd team games postponed due to road accident in Irlam which covered both sides of the road so most of the two teams unable to get out of Irlam, though some were on the way to Pilks when it got phoned through the game was off. Someone has died from the accident as far as I am aware, there was tailbacks for hours by all accounts in and around Irlam area, not been a great week for the area

Accident on the Barton stretch at mid day, I understand a motor cyclist died. It meant that the only route out of the town was by travelling east towards Warrington hence complete gridlock in the area.
