"Why, oh why people bring dogs to Rugby League games I'll never know".: |
|
| Its certainly a strange one but, if they were to be allowed in a league there may well have been too much disruption by shifting a team up from div 5 especially as that team had already played two games, presumably those games would have to be replayed(?) Dropping them in div 4 might be the course of least resistance but as other posters have said I can see lots of teams being brassed off about it, especially the likes of Hindley and Woolston. Should be interesting to see how things pan out results wise.

| Yet again Division 4 has become a dumping ground, nothing against thatto Heath at all but they had over 4 months to sort themselves out like the rest of us, the seasons kicked off, no teams should enter any division once the first games have been played full stop. There taking the p*** the Girvins yet again, the clubs didn't even get asked if they minded, or course they are a club from one of the heartlands so they get whatever they want as usual. Really wish someone else would have the balls to run the league and bring it up to date with a fair playing field. Rant over, lol

In reality before this week all clubs would have had two free weeks during the course of the season (obviously there will be more due to weather and teams unable to run a side), the Girvins have cocked up yet again throughout the league, a) only deciding on the league structure two weeks before the season started and b)letting clubs decide what division they play in.
e.g if a club doesn't think their team will be competitive in a higher division should they really let them drop down to a division they will feel more competitive in?, its a competition all teams should rise and fall through the divisions on merit.
I personally feel sorry for any division 5 or 6 teams who have worked there socks off only to see someone leapfrog over them, whats up with playing friendlys each week organised by the League, like i say they had enough time to get there house in order.

how many teams are free each week to play freindlys, even if the league did try to organise them? until sides start dropping out there appears to be no friendly teams available. oh there is 1 spare team each week, its the 1 in div 4 so basically puttin them in div 4 is the same as playing the spare team in a friendly but for 2 points instead.

| There are actually quite a few spare teams looking for friendly games, secretaries get emailed details. That I know of are: Hindley A, an occasional Langworthy A, Ellesmere Port (who are associate members of NWC for this reason specifically), Spring View A etc.

etc??? once them 4 sides have been played what happens then? surely easier being put in the league with only 2 rounds gone with regular fixtures than scratching round for fixtures or playing once every 4 week or so? occasional langworthy a? that speaks volumes!!

| I dont have a problem with them being put in our league at all, the thing that annoyed me was that we were made to work our way up from div 6. Most of the time scoring 60+ points (and once scoring 100 points in a 70 minute match) and knowing that we should of been in a higher division. Along with teams not bothering to show up at times.

puttin a team in from div 5 having already played 2 games? this would also leave div 5 short then. theyd probably have gone into div 6 but with blackpool already pullin out it was probably easier on the numbers in each league. 1 for1 . basically i think it was done just for ease.

we can all see that - but it doesn't make it fair on those sides who have been trying to get up the divisions when one side is admitted two divisions up when, presumably, they weren't sufficiently organised to submit their forms before the season started. does this set a precedent for future years? apply late, get rewarded?
