| Eccleston Lions 30 - 18 Bury Broncos
We just didn't switch on. Eccleston started strong but couldn't break us down and Bury scored first, then it was tit-for-tat with Bury deservedly leading 10-12 at half time. First 15 mins of the second half we were awful, couldn't tackle, kept dropping the ball in our 20, giving penalties away, etc. A team as strong as Eccleston will always punish that and ran in 3 tries. Thought Eccleston were good, seemed to read our game and controlled the ruck area very well, ran hard and their defence was tight (though we didn't help by sending our forwards in one at a time!!). And they seem to be getting bigger!!!
Other results:
Bolton Mets 16 - 34 Wigan Bulldogs
Chorley Panthers 22 - 26 Wigan St Cuthbert's A
Newton Storm 6 - 24 Westhoughton Lions
St Helens Wild Boar 24 - 10 Rylands Sharks A
Widnes Tigers 14 - 12 Crosfields

No, still trying to get my knee fixed. Played against you last year at our place though.
Yeah was a good entertaining game and played in good spirit, you boys took control for longer periods than we did and did the what I was trying to tell our lot to do! God knows why, but they didn't listen.
Looking forward to the return! (might be fixed by then)

Have faith!
A couple of new faces will be joining the existing coaching staff at Newton Storm this week. Both coaches are from Newton and are experienced Academy coaches from a SL club. Some new players will be joining the team too, two/three for sure on Tuesday this week with others to follow in coming weeks.
All the lads have bought into what the club are trying to do and hopefully this will give the OA a big boost and will help them turn things around.

You would be surprised how much support Newton Storm has in certain circles. The club want the open age to be as successful as the junior set up and will do everything they can to help.
Its not going to happen overnight and it's gonna take alot of work from the lads who want to be part of the rebuilding process. The new players who come in will be there for the long haul, no short term fixes.
By the way Kane, Bozzy's more than welcome to come back when Hes finished with Rochdale!

| Week 3Bury Broncos vs Widnes Tigers
Crosfields A vs Chorley Panthers
Rylands Sharks A vs Wigan Bulldogs
St Helens Wild Boars vs Newton Storm
Westhoughton Lions vs Eccleston Lions
Wigan St Cuthbert's A vs Bolton Mets
Hard to call again this week, but I reckon nearly all home wins this week. Obviously I'm going for Bury against Widnes, Crosfields-Chorley looks to be yet another tight one: Chorley seem to have strengthened but I'm going with Crosfields simply with them being at home. Rylands-Bulldogs, also going with Rylands with them at home; think Wild Boars will have too much for Newton, Westhoughton-Eccleston could be tight with Westhoughton having a good win last week but think Eccleston will have too much power, and Bolton seem to have had a poor start while Cuthberts have started well.

| Seems we're competing in another mini-league!!!!
Just noticed that Wild Boars have joined pitch-hero and currently, Hindley, followed by Chorley, are the two most viewed rugby league club sites on the whole pitch-hero network!
