Seems to me that some teams in the summer league are unable to fulfil fixtures when there is a 1st team game on. I know the idea is to play rugby but I would be claiming the points of these teams because when the fixture is re-arranged they will fill the team with 1st teamers to get the points.

We are getting the points Gary and I would think the other sides who's matches were called coz there opponents could raise a team will do the same!!

One main reason we switched to summer was to get regular games at the minute this league is going exactly the same as the winter season

As I said earlier the league said they would be tough on teams that do this hope they stick to there word!!

Just heard Wildboars have called off against Heysham because of a waterlogged pitch

So that's 4 out of 5 fixtures off the weekend!!!

higganshaw 10-16 bamber bridge wasnt a great game and higganshaw play on the smallest pitch in the league.higganshaw went 10 nil up but we hit back strong and should of won by more.in regards to the league all these now shows are joke feel sorry for hindpool and ulverston as it looks like teams dnt want to travel that far

I reckon 3 games will go ahead this week, don't think Maries A have played yet so I think will be off

They have said they can't raise a team against us on the 26th either, but can raise a team next Wednesday but we can't do it Wednesday with work etc

bamber bridge 14 - hindpool 14 a good game with both teams mayb nicking it but id say a draw was probaly a fair result,does anybody now if a team misses 3 games they are out of the league?? seems like we are the only div that has teams not playing every week

From what I understand these are the rules:
8.5 If a club fails to fulfil a fixture, the Club Secretary must inform the Competition Administrator that they are conceding the points.
8.6 Any club failing to play a fixture on a scheduled date will be made to play the reverse fixture, if it has not already been played or forfeited, on their opponents’ ground. Clubs failing to fulfil fixtures will be fined as per the following scale.
Premier, Division 1 and 2 - £30
Division 3 and 4 - £20
Other divisions - £15
8.7 Any clubs failing to fulfil a fixture in the premier division, more than one fixture in divisions one and two, or more than two in any other division, will be automatically relegated
irrespective of League placing, unless that club was due for promotion, in which case it will remain in the same division the following season. The next highest placed club will be promoted.
8.8 Any club failing to fulfil a fixture must pay reasonable expenses to the non-offending club, including the referee’s full fee and expenses, which must be paid on the day by the non-offending club and reclaimed by them from the offending club.
8.9 Any club which fails to notify it’s opponents of its inability to raise a team 60 minutes before the scheduled kick-off, shall also be liable to pay any expenses, up to a maximum of £40, which their opponents may incur, including kit washing, or medical costs (ie strapping etc).
8.10 In the case of a home club failing to fulfil a fixture, a visiting club that has travelled, may claim up to a maximum of £50 towards transport costs
8.11 If a club running two or more teams is unable to raise a team on any particular day, then the first team fixture must be played.

Based on these both Halton Simms Cross and Widnes St Maries have now been relegated from the premier division into next years division 1 for conceding games this weekend (WSM vs Barrow Island) and last (HSC vs Bank Quay Bulls). Strange times indeed.

Cadishead 18 ulverston 30. Ref was poor at times. Think he forgot rules at time, plus had history with one of our players as he was a local ref. But ulverston played well at times & deserve the result.

St Helens 22 - 29 Bank Quay A a game of two halves we started well but they went in 12-0 at half time but turned it round second half and looked like loosing tbh as the game went on.

Probably got no game now for three weeks as West Bank this week then Maries who won't play, then a bye!! gives us a chance to get lads back fit though
