| That's my point, I'm not complaining, I'm saying that away games are the best craic, which you also said so I'm not sure what point you're trying to make there??!
And, wrong assumption, it costs 400-500 quid per bus... Not ideal but these are the sacrifices we have to make!

| Quote: reds5 "and as for you and hindpool having to do it every other week that is your choice to do it by entering our league rather than staying in the cumbrian league and i'm sure you're bound to have special deals with coach companies that means it doesn't cost anywhere near as much as it costs us who only use them twice a season'"
Are you on glue???? Since when was it your league? The clue is in the title pal. North West Counties and last time I looked Barrow and Ulverston were in the North West but feel free to correct me if im wrong.
Cant speak for Ulverston but we get no special deals from coach companies and im guessing the other sides dont either as some clubs have to get mini buses now cos they cant afford a coach. The only thing I ever got from our coach company was £50 a few years ago to put his logo on our shorts.

| Clue is in the title - "North West Counties League". All of Lancashire (which includes Barrow and surrounding area), and Cheshire or modern day Greater Manchester and Merseyide are part of that league if they want to be...
The Cumbria league primarily services west Cumbria and that's still quite a way from Barrow.

Sorry think my last post may have come across wrong didn't mean to upset anyone...I was just refering to what the lad from ulverston said regarding having to travel every other week, my point is that in lancashire there isn't a lancashire league or greater manchester league we have no choice but to enter the north west counties league whereas the teams up in cumbria have the choice to play in the cumbrian leagues or north west counties league or both if you have the players available so our situation isn't comparable with theirs...i think its good that we play teams from all over the north west rather than playing the same teams from the local area and i hope we continue to have many good games in future seasons

| Hindpool and Haresfinch were given 18-0 wins as Langworthy and Orrell failed to raise sides. Think this shows that teams should have been allowed a free week if they wanted. Wonder if the powers that be will take any notice in future. At the end of the day we would all rather play the games than have the points awarded especially when it can be easily avoided.

| Mickpip, its a fair point, but to answer your question, the core of our A-team is mostly full of ex 1st team players who dont want to / cant travel due to family committments, or just winding down their careers.. and also any current 1st team players that cant travel that weekend (in general)... and as we have highlighted in previous posts, its expensive enough to have one team travelling!
Well done to Higgy, Dalton are one of our main local rivals, so good to see them get a beating from a team in our league... shows how tough our league is when bottom of the league can do that!
On a different note, Ulverston were a class act yesterday.. since being side lined from an operation its the first game that i've watched that I wasn't frustrated about at any point!
