I think it will be a big test for us this season but we have recruited well and kept all of last years squad which was decent to start with.

I'll be happy if we get something out of our local derbies and make a good fist of the season.

Heard that teams in division 1 had been asked about stepping up to the premier and that Haresfinch have taken up the challenge. Any truth in that?

I haven't heard that about Haresfinch, but nothing would surprise me as the structure keeps changing at one point the Prem had 12 teams in it.

I think there is a Management meeting coming up early Feb so hopefully everything will be finalised along with fixtures, bored now with nothing to do on a Saturday

They are sending out provisional fixtures to clubs this week, I have a copy of ours we play Shevington & Ashton in our first two weeks.

There are no cups in the fixtures so would assume they will change once cup games go in, hopefully anyway as it has the season finishing on August 3rd

I asked if they could do a premier cup like the old style NWC to beef up the fixtures maybe if all clubs agree on it we can can get it in the fixtures.

we won 22-10 pal could have been allot more considering we only kicked one conv. Ashton game with a big strong squad.
was a close hard game.

Really poor conditions though and I wouldnt take too much from it in terms of the season in front of us both, but considerring we had only done one ball session so far this pre season, we were really pleased with how we went.

Our pre season so far has been spent in a boxing gym working on conditioning, wrestling etc, and to be fair out fitness levels on saturday reflected it.

As CA says really poor conditions & was a chance to get a ball in hands. Like View our 1st ball session was on the Wednesday (winter pre seasons a nightmare finding facilities to do much ball work). A good run out or both teams & gave us chance to have a look at some of the 18's that have moved up & a couple of fringe players. Scrappy game at times but thats understandable & SV deserved winners in the end. Good luck with your season CA.

That's one big down side of summer rugby the pre-season is awful, when your used to being on the field in August shorts and T-Shirt, now your cold wet and dark trying to get people to train

We've managed to get an indoor facility big enough for decent ball work for the next few weeks & hopefully a outdoor 3G pitch from next week so things looking up until the clocks change. Like last summer this pre seasons a learning curve for us all.

Decent point for HFH against Haydock although we could have won the game.

Gave 2 intercept tries away, doesn't help.

Looking forward to our first derby next week against Simmies.

Got first game this Saturday at home to Ashton providing our old changing rooms are recommissioned in time!!! expect a tough game as they have improved over the past few years.

Hopefully Roose fulfill their fixture this weekend, think their at home to Clock Face.
