I'm not sure Bank Quay are quite the force they were a couple of years ago. A lot of familiar faces seem to be getting older together and although they still have some 'grunt' up front I'm not sure they have the pace out wide they used to have. Still a good side though and it will be a good barometer for Hindley I'd say.

Will put my neck on the line and say we'll beat Newton. Had 2 good training sessions this week.

Lots of mistakes from both sides, some big hits and a bit of niggle, all in all a good fun game.

From what I gather it's just numbers. They had a decent enough team out yesterday but it seems a couple had come out of retirement to make up numbers. Real shame, good set of lads, Blackburn RU is a good set-up and a RL team up there is a bonus.

I hope this isnt the case, wouldbe a shame to loose a team so early in the season

Hope Blackburn can come back, and with Accrington struggling in the under 18s its a major worry what Central Lancs will disappear off the RL map! I know a guy in Burnley who wants to run something next summer so have suggested he give Blackburn a call...

Newton Storm 20 - 22 Eccleston Lions
Dissappointing game for newton, Try dissallowed in last minute for a knock on when the ref was 30m away then after game came into the changing room apologising asking if he had the right descision Well played to eccy though they capitalised on our mistakes, when we where on our game we played well but consistency is need!!!

It was a good game mate, could have gone either way really. With regards to the last minute "try" I dont think he grounded it properly, but then playing for Eccy Lions I would say that! Looking forward to having you down at our place for what should be another good game.
