Yesterday I was worrying about getting to a match at RAF Cranwell this afternoon (which I ultimately managed), today none of it seems to matter. I always love coming up to Whitehaven and the surrounding areas, and have spent many happy hours up there. To imagine that something like this could happen in such a peaceful place is unbelieveable. Deepest sympathy to all on behalf of all at Sheffield Eagles. We'll see you in 10 days time. Garry Purdham R.I.P.

Should be a minute silence throught rugby league this weekend in sheer respect. I'm sorry if any haverners on here now him but personall. I hope Bird suffered a lot for what he's done. I hope he died in real pain. I hope when he shot himself he didn't instantly die, i hope he felt extreme unbearable pain.
