Personally I think we've done things the right way - good blend of Brits and Aussies, whilst also trying to bring young players through when possible.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

its making me laugh as well tbh.
if gene, aizue and fitzhenry all leave you'll be down to 7 (webster, dobson, vella, galea, fisher, lovegrove and newton) while we'll probably have 7 as well! our time in super league hasn't been wasted!!

| Fitzgibbon has been a fantastic player and I'm a big fan of his, but currently he is the captain of a club that is the laughing stock of the NRL. Scratch that, the [iembarrassment [/iof the NRL. I wouldn't say he's "washed up" but he's not the player he was 3-4 years ago. He'll be here for 2 years at most, then Hull have the issue of replacing him when he goes. They may be in need of a quick fix, but we aren't and this year's and last year's signings show that we are looking to the future.

theres a fair bit of truth in that but what these experienced players bring with them helps the younger players to develop and than replace them.(well that should be the plan).
every side brings these players in, gidley at saints, bedsy at leeds, galea at hkr.
we've also signed good young players and are looking to bring more through its just that we need a bigger turn around of players because we've alot of undisiplined drunks.

take your point on the roosters being rubbish this season but it doesn't make much difference IMO. Garret Crossman came from the storm who won the NRL grand final and he was average at best for you last season.

Come on. 2 months ago Hudgell promised 2 top drawer signings, his words, not mine. 2 reserve grade players from teams in 11th and 12th clearly don't fall into that category, hence there must be more to come.
On a related point it's interesting that Hull FC fans are criticised for bigging up players like Tommy Lee, yet it's OK for people on here to claim Hodgson as a future international with 2 SL games to his name now he's signed for KR.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

You're the one with the quotabase, find me someone (other gormclops charlie or other dunderheads of his ilk) who's made that claim.

Is it just me who doesn't remember him promising this?

Your idea of "top drawer" is very short sighted. When Saints signed Jon Wilkin from Rovers was he a "top drawer" signing? Or are players from the bottom club in the NRL your idea of "top drawer"?
I'm not saying Cook and Hodgson were the players Hudgell had in mind when he said those things so maybe we will be signing someone else, but I can't say I'd be massively disappointed if we didn't.

Roofs, he could have said it to you personally and you wouldn't remember!
I think it was on a Radio Humberside interview after which game I forget now, might have been Bradford.
Oh, and btw, Corn Exchange in Leeds is open but it's never going to be as it was, they're promoting it as a foodie type place now and looking to get local producers in to go with the Antony's Café in the basement.

| I keep my pants in my top drawer. If Rovers are thinking of signing them I best get the washing machine turning over.

In the programme note for the Bradford game (I think - I'm at work, the programme is at home, so I can't check), Hudgell talks about Rovers not being the finished article, but with a couple of 'top-drawer' signings we can continue to progress. I don't know if that is Mrs B's source, but it kind of fits.
If we'd have signed a high profile Aussie, we'd have been criticsized for not giving young British players a chance, taking the easy option etc. We do that and we're being cheap.
Tbf, when they annonunce the Jordan Turner signing I'm going on their forum, a la Hutchie, to call it a kick the teeth to Washbrook or Hall.
