| I was impressed by HKR tonight.
Love the shirt colours.
The officials were lousy.
The windmill warning thing is a joke.
There is no parameter as to how long it can last.
That clearly makes it subjective and open to BIAS.
I hate Wigan so I'm biassed too.

How did Charnley get on as far as the away crowd?'"
I don't think there was much of an away crowd to be honest with the glimpses i saw on sky but could be wrong! I didn't hear anything towards charnley aswell but again could be wrong

It'll take a Saints crowd to make him suffer.. He will.

Can't even claim much glory from it. I've seen it so many times from the away end there and as proven tonight it doesn't even matter if the game's on TV the officiating is always the same.

That's what professionals do.
Meanwhile the officials close ranks and try to defend the indefensible.

| Quote: Albion "What is so painful to watch is the fact that James Child has looked over that Charnley try at least four or five times and still gives the try. If it was given by the on field ref with no VR help, then you can understand (maybe) that he would get it wrong.
It's embarassing to see that try given. I was furious and I'm a Saints fan who was hoping that you'd get beat tonight!
What compounded that was the forward pass (apparently) before HT that never was. You should have scored, but it led to Wigan scoring just before HT getting them right back in the match.
Some big calls that influenced the outcome were incorrectly given.'"
Yes I have to agree and I'm afraid we are next up at the JJB what's the betting we get the incompetent Childs in the middle !!!!
Unfortunately the current 'clump' of refs and their erstwhile leader the equally incompetent Mr Jon Sharp will convince us that Childs is really sorry it was a 'human' error and the RFL will fine anyone who says 'owt' !!!!
Wigan are a good side but it's a shame that every time we lesser lights get a chance for some glory there always seems to be a 'foopah' the only consistency is it usually goes in Wigans favour !!!
Good luck in the derby next week you deserve some after the last one !!!!!

| Hull fan by the way...thought rovers played well last night, and as usual the refereeing was a joke. When we played them at the kc they held down and messed about at the rook all night, yet somehow we got penalised about four times for something they did all game. Even watching the London game last week, the ref gave them everything. They constantly slow the game, with hands in trying strip, yet constantly are allowed to do it, yet every other team gets done for playing their little games. Joke.

Brilliant. Funny how these kind of posts dissapeared when we were rubbish a few seasons back. We must be good again.

| Only just watched the match this morning, once again one of our matches has been decided on poor reffing decisions, ok I know that we could not have said definitively we would have won, but we were on for a certain try from Edens pass that was not only legal, but a great bit of skill and would have put us 14-4 up and maybe 16-4 with the kick going into half time, rather than 10-10 from the resulting scrum. The way we played, I reckon we would have gone on to win it had the correct decision been made at that point.
Very, very poor from the officials last night, but you watch, the same touch judge will probably miss a 3 metre forward next time he officiates a Leeds game, which will give them a try. It's hard as a supporter to sometimes believe that there isn't a bias towards the top 4 clubs, but as a Rovers fan I have seen some weird decisions go against us over the seasons against the top 4, which I am sure a lot of other clubs fans have as well.

Refs see what they expect to see (they're only human and our brains are wired that way) to a large extent and good teams benefit from that. I'd admit btw that fans see what they want to see.
In our early days in SL, Silverwood-Bradford was one of the most depressing prospects. And Child against Saints a few years ago, is hard to forget, much as I'd like to. Now they're not so good, it feels like we're more likely to get calls against them. Also they're less likely to capitalise on their good fortune. Bad decisions that turn out not to be crucial are more quickly forgotten, as there isn't the same sense of injustice. That Child-saints game being an exception, as they were clearly much better, but he was astonishingly eager to penalise us that night.
I'm guessing that when Rovers and Hull were doing very well in the early-mid 80s, people complained about never getting decisions on Humberside?
Not watched last nights game yet, as I was out. And tbh, I knew it'd be the sort of game likely to give me an ulcer watched live. Sounds like I was right!
You're right, Wigan are good again and exploit the advantages that come with it ruthlessly. If you could keep it up on the BBC, while going poop on Sky so we can enjoy Clarke's discomfort in the play-offs, I'd be much obliged.

You'll have chance to test that theory in a couple of weeks old lad. Just out of interest, were you in the top four when you started playing American Football at the Etihad last season ? The only bonus for you from last night was that Withers didn't have chance to bend Sam Tomkins leg like a corkscrew. The RFL would have been calling for the return of the death penalty if he'd have tried that on Ratboy.
