| Personally I think it's an overused term. However, in terms of positive impact on the club during his time with us I would put James Webster up there with any of them.

| certain players come to a club, and become legends, Sir Stanley Gene is one of those players, a living legend. Newtons maybe not in that position yet though but hes defo a fans favorite.

Agreed.
Its not a straightforward question of ability or acheivement when attaining "legend" status IMO. Paul Fletcher is a legend primarily for excess loyalty in the dark days when most players of his undoubted quality would have gone elsewhere.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

I think he should have gone, wasted his talent staying with us and would have got international recognition at a bigger club.
I was sad when Anthony Sullivan left, but pleased for him and his career.

I know what you mean, but I think he stayed for more reasons than just rugby. He hasn't done too badly for himself.

Yeah, I'm assuming his business and family commitments came first, can't fault him for that.

Standing up to the forum bully.
It must be working, he doesn't like me...i'm devastated: |
|
| Pity Super league came to late at Craven Park for the big man. He was a loyal player at Rovers and turned down big money moves across the city and will be regarded as one of Rovers legends.

And still turns out in Rovers colours week in week out for the Rovers legends team in the RFL organised touch rugby comps when they are held down at Craven Park. Top bloke. Pace has gone though.

It is the way of the weak to secretly bleat to those in authority rather than fight their own battles.:27608.jpg |

Yup an absolute top guy and a gentleman, and whilst his loyalty is to be admired i know i would have loved to see him playing at a higher level where i'm sure international honours would have come his way.
Wonder if Fletch Jr will be a chip off the old block??

Fletch should have toured in 1992 in my opinion when he was at the height of his game. Was a better player than Gary Price, Michael Jackson and Billy Mcginty.
As far as his lad is concerned he is certainly as big as his old man and anybody who can play Conference rugby in the front row at 18 years of age must have something about them.
Funny moment playing touch when he went over to score a try but passed it to his dad over the line to let him have a try.

Indeed, Clint fell over.
Whereas Fitzgibbon was smashed to the ground. He didn't like it either, nice one Scotty.
