You lightly toast one side, turn it over and then toast the filling side.
They do look a good idea though, I don't eat many toasted sandwiches now but if I did I'd probably get some.
I'm trying to be a lot more disciplined with my kitchen gadget purchases as I've got a quite large kitchen full of them and I reckon twenty five per cent are used very infrequently or have only been used once. I'm looking at you pasta machine.

Dumette brought them home one day and I laughed, She's out today and there's nothing in but bread and cheese so I thought, Ooh, I've had three of them and ran out of bread. Great, Take up no space in a drawer like a Toastie maker would, Just leave out the posh toaster and use the Toastie bags! AS could have Darth printed Toasties using this method, too.
Obvioulsy quicker to pop in the toaster than to warm up the grill etc.

You pop a bit of cheese, onion, tomato (Or anything you like in a Toastie) between two slices of bread, pop them in this little flimsy brown packet and into the toaster as you would normally, It smells lush as its toasting and tastes great. Then they just wash clean for the next use.'"
Yeah, Rovette got some a while ago. I'd forgotten about them - they were good though, like you say.

Yeah they would because they are quite tight on two slices of bread!

Surprise of the day.
Little Robin Redhead arrives with a completely foul culinary suggestion.

| In my student days we had a Breville. I was introduced to breaking an egg onto the bread and adding some tommy splodge. Worked quite well.

| Quote: Little Robin Redhead "I work with a guy from London who's being living in Hull for 3 years. He reckons that we are some of the most unfriendly people he's ever met. When I asked for examples he said, "When I walk down the street in Hull & say Good Morning to people, they look at me like I'm crazy". He say's everyone greets each other where he is from.
I'm just not having it, I don't think we are that bad. I once asked an older, unsteady on his feet man if he wanted my seat on the tube, he looked at me as if I'd asked him to stick a red hot poker up his jacksy.
Am I being bias, (biased?) or are we in general an unfriendly bunch in Hull?'"
I'm originally from London/Essex, and the guy you work with is obviously very confused.

You could lay your toaster on its side, I suppose. I accept no responsibility if goes wrong.
Not sure our new toaster is big enough, now I come to think on it. That might be why they dropped out of use...
The colour does match the kettle and other acessories, so that is the main thing.

I didn't think my toaster was big enough, they do squeeze in though. They miss off the top inch or so unless you buy the square bread. It's better if they're tight because everything stays inbetween the bread rather than falling into the bag.
Laying a toaster on it's side will almost certainly result in fire as the heat cannot escape, but you knew that, you bad mister.

| Yeah, people from Hull can appear aggressive as they will go for the jugular in a mickey taking way but they're not unfriendly.
I'd be interested to know which part of London he's from as I'd be very surprised to find strangers reciprocating a greeting in most areas, to be honest, I think that's gone from most cities and large towns. It happens in the village I live in but not from everyone.
Sorry, this was in response to NealHFC's post, not toaster related.

| I am now going to be a bread snob and say that any square bread cannot be involved in the making of a good toasted sandwich.
This is now making me feel hungry, after days of eating monolithic quantities of red meat, going back to fruit for lunch is hard.
