Hicks's performance was woeful. Touch judges in first half had to award penalties that he saw and was going to ignore. Seventies Red said he got a good view of the kick from the East Stand. Total cackamallabab, mate. As a former East Stander, you cannot see a drop kick trajectory from there unless the kick is directly in your line of sight.

Personally, I thought we were the better team for the first twenty (ish) and the last forty, however, we were absolutely diabolical for the second twenty. I like Campese a lot, but Brierley had him on absolute toast today.

Agreed, he is a great servant to the game and a role model as a player. Like you said, not the sharpest though. I have doubts as to whether he is suited to the position that he currently holds to be honest. If he carries on making comments similar to some of the ones he has made over the last few months he is going to start losing a lot of the respect that he has built up over the years. Maybe he needs to stay away from the boardroom and stick to the coal face where he is more suited.

But if h's wrong why should be expected to live with mediocre refs?
