| Quote: east hull FC fan "You've made this guy an offer, I'd presume Sandercock knows him?
rlhttp://www.titans.com.au/playerprofiledisplay/Titans/Beau%20Henry/4987rl'"
Beau Henry was let go by Wayne Bennett as soon as he got to the Knights. Bennett knew him because Beau Henry played under 20s for Saint George when Bennett was there and Bennett encouraged him to turn down a deal with the cowboys and stay with Saints, but in 2010 Henry was the player of the year in the under 20s comp and Bennett fell out with him for some reason.
He was signed by the Knights because Sandercock and Dunneman, the Knights assistant coaches, identified him as a future star, and he was the under 20s halfback of the year two years in a row.
He has only played 6 games of firstgrade at the Knights but he is a very skilful player and a huge halfback at 96kg, but I think what lets him down is that he seems to be a bit of a cat and doesn't like being tackled by the big boys in the seniors. If he toughens up he will be a star. As soon as Bennett signed Henry was given a release from his 3 year contract with the Knights and signed a 3 year deal with the Titans, where he only played 5 games in 2011 and has been playing in the Qld cup ever since.
The best game I saw from him was a Knights pre season game against Fiji. The Fiji boys had never seen tricky halfback play before and Beau must have set up 6 or 7 tries with every trick in the book.

| One of the real disappointing things for me about this signing is how Super League is losing one of its best players to just Beca fringe player next season. A one year contract isn't doing him much either!

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| I was quite proud of the reception he got from the fans last night and throughout the game, he looked quite moved at the end.

I think this whole situation is a ploy and i can see dobson signing for someone else for next year too, signing for the knights might just of been a way to get out of his hull KR contract.

After five years service at Hull Kingston Rovers do you really think Michael Dobson would do that, If you do I think your deluded? He'll play for Newcastle for a year and at that point he'd have been OOC for Hull KR anyway.

not really as our chairman has sold players who wanted to leave and said as much last week that although we turned down a bid from Salford you got the impression if Dobson wanted to go there he would have gone He wanted to give it another go in aus and he has a year to prove himself and ive no doubt he will

What is to be disapointed about? Super league is not loosing one of its players he was produced by the NRL club system they did not rate him so he came to Europe to make a career & he has given 7 years valiant service to super league clubs. It has been all posatives for super league, he is backing his ability by taking a one year deal I think he will do OK & that will be a signal to any other young players who feel unwanted in the NRL that there is a valid option in our competition to ignight their carreers. I am sure most clubs in Europe will be in the bidding if he can't kick on at Newcastle.

| cant believe you lot arent dissapointed about your chairman turning down a big money move from salford on this guy, i understand the bit like at least he wont be playing against us etc, but me personally from whats reported id rather have the £200k in my clubs bank than to allow the player to walk for free, maybe the chairman expected him to see out is contract or maybe dobson just never spoke to your chairman and put him in the bigger picture, would of been a nice transfer kitty for a cash struggling club !!!!!!!

Sorry folks I'm not trying to be negative towards your club, it's just why would he go somewhere to be 3rd choice? Seems theres more in this than him just wanting to play back in the NRL.

Can't see it tbh - or at least that wouldn't be plan A. I think he genuinely wants to give the NRL a real crack, while he still can. If it doesn't pan out, he's plenty of credit in the bank to get a gig back here for 2015 and beyond. Unless it goes badly wrong I don't see it happening next year. If it did, I assume we'd still be due a fee - otherwise a NRL release clause is really just a release clause.
If I was considering a move to Salford, there'd be something to be said for seeing how 2014 goes first - it could be spectacular in either direction. However well it goes, it won't have the same cachet as playing in the NRL - sadly for us all.
He held all the cards - if he'd wanted to go to Salford, we'd likely have cashed in ultimately. Or he could simply have waited. The fact that he has taken a year over there to compete for a place over the security of 3 or 4 years here as a first choice, says it all. Though the second option will remain open in the future, so he can't really lose.

The bigger picture is we have a coach who is renowned for spotting and bringing on young talent.Thats why i expect him to replace Dobbo with a decent payer.Where as yours seems unable to.
