67329_1392756525.jpg Well you may throw your rock and hide your hand

| Quote: Mild Rover "The Cockayne stuff 1. is irrelevant and 2. has been done to death.
GS, I'll neither cheer him on for FC or suggest he's a traitor - there is a middle ground.
When you say 'that was then, this now', do you mean something has changed or just that the passing of time gives a different perspective?
Do you think an FC fan would be justified in saying Shaun Briscoe betrayed them, or Josh Hodgson or Craig Hall?'"
Why do my posts keep vanishing mr ?
I've pm'd you, MR.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| You've all gone mental.
Benny G said he had a year left in him. When you have a senior pro who knows what he's about with the gravitas that Galea carries you should trust him.
Ben Galea would never have done Rovers wrong.
Our club didn't offer him a new deal, another club has, why wouldn't you do it?
If Rovers had given him what he deserved he'd still be there, fault lies entirely with Roves.
And yes,I will cheer Ben Galea next year because he's a fabulous player who ultimately deserved more from us.

| He has been betrayed by Rovers more than he has betrayed your fans. It's sport get over it.

I know what you mean - but he's not an unbiassed observer. I don't for one moment think he'd have been poor value, but at 34 [imaybe[/i no longer best value. As there was with Shannon MacDonnell there's a hypothetical amount that IMO would constitute good value and without knowing what we offered or what he wanted, it's hard to judge.

| Master coach Wayne Bennett, "Better to let a player go a year early than a year late".
For Ben Galea at age 34 and worsening injury record the time was right for Rovers to let go. We have certainly had the best of him.
If Benny stays fit in 2013 Hull have a good signing but really that is very hit or miss. Perhaps Hull can afford to take the risk but as a high earning player Rovers cannot.
Either way good luck to Benny Galea as far as I'm concerned. Rovers offered him retirement Hull offred him a very lucrative final payday he wasn't expecting. What else could he do?
Yesterday down in London I shook Bennie's hand and said 'Thank you Benny we'll miss you.' He replied 'Thanks, I really wanted to stay'.
Benny is too much of a professional to do anything other than his best for Hull FC but his heart will never be there and his body may have other ideas too.
This smacks of another Walrus signing, I wonder if the Gentle rumours (Catalans) have any substance?

[quote="The Reason":3e09qe5x]Hi Andy
The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

That is as accurate as your other recent post
Quote: His Bobness "
Rovers are nailed on certainties for the top 8. We'll be 7th at worst and Bradford & Hull will scrap for 8th.

| Galea is gutted to be leaving rovers and had prepared for retirement rather than go to another club, but life has to go on and when an offer comes in,whether it be from hull or anyone else you have to be sensible about it.The guy is rovers through and through and if he hasn't already signed for hull and rovers came up with a reasonable offer he would stay.!!

| Galeas been great for us, at the end of the day he wasn't offered a good enough deal by Rovers, the guys still got to earn a living, so if another club comes in then you take that offer.
I will certainly give him a cheer next season.
As I said earlier in the thread, its a strange signing given AP's insistence that Hull will only sign the best young English players,

| Ben is free to do what ever he wants after we said we couldn't extend his deal due to lack of game time.
No problem there IMHO.
However if he is at FC next year and he has a similar/worse injury record then the FC fans who are now laughing at folks who are saying there is a good chance that he won't be cost effective can't then get upset if Rovers fans say 'Told you so'.
They probably will but they will fail to see how silly that would be.
