| Gotta be a big confidence boost to the team to keep Wakey tryless, i know the conditions made it hard but its still a great effort all the same

| The wind is always difficult at BV as it swirls so much in all directions.
Could tell it was going to be an arm wrestle once Craig Hall kicked the first goal of the day.
Defences well on top and very difficult for either side to make many yards in attack.
Always felt that one error would win it otherwise golden point beckoned.
Thought that you just about shaded it.

Agree with all of that. Not seen the stats yet but felt like Wakey had more chances and the first 20 of 2nd half we seemed permanently in defence? But didn't cave in like feared.Really did well keeping Pauli and Fifita at bay.It then became end to end and we came out on top. A stand alone game due to conditions that both teams would feel aggrieved at losing.

To be fair we sacked our last coach after losing to them.

And Chester too IIRC ?, but cannot be certain.
It wasnt a pretty game to watch in those conditions, and it always looked like any kind of try would win it. Could have gone either way really, but your guys were good value winners against what i thought was a very negative Wakefield side.

Pretty standard comments Craig, every side that get a beat will talk about how poor they were, giving little credit to the opposition.
A win away at any SL club is a good result, Wakey on paper are a good side, so it's a very good win.

Agree Dave, no matter how or why, a win at Wakey is a top result.
I also hope Young Greenwood is ok our game is very harsh at times.

| All true. Just seems ironic 1 or 2 of the more vocal Wakey fans have spent last 2 season whinging that Wakey don't get any credit when beating other sides then do exact same thing when they lose a game they perceive they should win? They should be well wound up for Friday's showdown at KC and the pack battle will again be good. Would rather watch that on TV than Wigan again

| Quote: craig hkr "Didn't see that win coming? Pack fronted up on a heavy pitch versus the biggest pack in SL. Just a huge difference in defensive attitude from last few week and bear in mind Greenwood off for 50ish min McGuire sin bin and 7 or 8 injured plus Tomkins banned. We are quick to moan when we lose but that effort today was immense and every player played their rock's off. Old fashioned RL but it's the 2 points that matter. Wakey are no mugs, but we are a better side than we've shown so far'"
Spot on. Your pack won the hard yards, and were impressive both defending and in attack. Both sides struggled to move the ball with any fluency, and when we did move it you were onto us like a pack of terriers.
Well played!

MIKE SMITH- THE BEST CENTRE HULL HAS EVER MADE!: |
|
| in the past weve seen many a game we could have won but our goaline defence wasnt as good as the oppositions,on this occasion it was so we will take the 2 points in unrovers like fashion with both hands, wakey had every chance to win that game but were not good enough on the day ,not a day for backs and our forwards easily matched the opposition on the day

I think both coaches have got questions about some decisions from yesterday! Must be a strong argument for new refs to have video back-up for their first few games, and to give a team warning but then ignore it when there's a penalty in the next couple of minutes is bizarre! Not an excuse, by the way - to send McGuire off when he looked to be speaking calmly and politely to him looked to be a bit of a hissy fit!
