I thought Fox had a dead leg and is ruled out through injury. He was a passenger in the second half last week due to it. Wasnt much better before he picked it up mind.
I just cant see Justin picking Sheriff to make his debut against a team like Leeds. He would be a breath of fresh air with ball in hand as he is far more dynamic than Briscoe and possibly Cockayne but he still has a lot of mistakes in his game, particularly when dealing with kicks and he will be cruely exploited in my opinion.

Possibly.
TBH with regard to Fox I would have dropped him anyway.
Now with regard to the high ball none of our FB's are superb anyway I would like to put him in there and try it, Exactly what have we got to lose?

He is pretty good under the high ball to be honest, its balls that are put through on the floor and behind him that i have seen him have issues with over the past 3 seasons. I get the feeling that its a concentration thing rather than an inabilty to actually handle them. I am certain that he will iron it out and become our full back for years to come as i've put elsewhere. I just want to see him iron out his deficiencies in an environment where he wont be hung out to dry if things go wrong.
Look across the river at young Reece Lynn. Sheriff is a better player than he is now due to the way that Rovers have gently progressed him. Hull shoved Lynn in before he was ready, he has made mistakes in the media spotlight and i have already seen him described as Kevin Penny mrk2 by the odd Hull fan. Is that what we would want for our 17 year olds?
In terms of what we have to lose by playing him, probably nothing. In terms of what he has to lose, possibly plenty.
That said if he does play i hope he has a blinder, scores a hat-trick and i end up looking a wally.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

| By one Hull 'fan'' RBA.
Reports suggest Lyne's still playing well for the U20's he's still got alot of time.
The coaches know when a players ready it's just sometimes they have to be brought in due to injuries, I hope Sherrif goes well when he makes his debut.

We're coming to make some noise!: |
|
| I know Fox messed up with the kick off after Welhams try but to me it looked like Green was the one going towards the ball and half way there decided he'd leave it to bounce to Fox then in typical Foxy fashion he just let it go over his head. However Greeny blue eyes won't get any stick for it!!!
After that although not doing anything startling Foxy didn't get the service to do anything with. He returned the ball when he had to, he wasn't found out of position too often and there were certainly far worse players out there in the middle of the park than him.
It makes me laugh that people can have a right go at Fox but as soon as someone even dares to have a go about one of the 'in crowd' they are being made scapegoats! Briscoe and Fox two years ago were the best things sinced sliced bread to most on here, in the past 18mths they have both become very average players and seem to have lost any spark they once had. Colbon has gone from a confident kick returner who crossed the whitewash with ease to a player who is scared of touching the ball. As a team we have gone from brilliant goal line defenders to the poorest in the league!
How does all this happen in just one off season? You can't blame injuries to just three players, one of which being one of the poorer defenders among the team!

Who is this with the turquoise eyes....
On a serious note, I think defensively we are missing Vella, don;t know what he does but with him on our goal line defense always seems more solid.
I agree with the your summary of the Fox / Briscoe / Colbon situation. Our wingers don't get enough ball and certainly none quick enough. If we got the ball through hands quicker we'd maybe see the better of them both.
Colbon got hung out to dry for his goalline defence in the Cats game. What happened was we invited too much pressure on our selves and they had a very good kicking game. Colbon had no chance with a lot of the tries as the kicks made him stand and jump against Blanche who was coming at pace. Our line speed caused the problems and Colbon got blamed.
Fox looks like he's struggling for confidence, the Cas game aside where he had a stinker I don;t think he's been any worse than the rest (I never went last week) He just needs some quality service and a try.
Briscoe's defence has been ok but what is the worry for me with him is his misjudging of high kicks, this was an area he was so strong in in previous years, its almost got back to the days of Cockayne at times with the wondering if it was going to be spilt. i still think he'll come good again once he's back and fit.
I do agree some players are almost untouchable in terms of criticism, regardess of how they play.

This..
I will add that Colbon hasn't been the same player since he had his jaw broken against the french outfit IMHO.
We look completly confidenceless which is my biggest worry.
We have beaten Leeds in the past because we got in the 'arm wrestle' with them, Were willing to work bloody hard for each other got a lead and by hook or by crook we held it.
I can't see that happening if we go in front on saturday as we have too soft an underbelly ATM IMHO.

He may be dropped but the way he was limping around Howden with his right ankle strapped about an hour ago may suggest otherwise.
If its an injury the flip flops werent such a good idea!

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

He walks past (well, limps, bad back innit) your house three times a day, you're just too blind drunk to notice.
Edit. Forgot again, people get drunk at the rugby, particularly that Tetley. Good times.
