| Quote: Dave K. "Cooke will play the exact same role at LF as he does at SO, I think it will be Webster who plays the LF role, as most teams apart from Leeds (the best team) play a extra running running forward at LF these days.
I wish more teams would play a ball handling LF.
Not sure why he doesnt play Murrel at LF, and Fisher and Hodgson as your two hookers, it when well for the majority of last season.'"
Im not sure that it has baffled many as I believe he has tried out this scenario in pre-season. Morgs is after playing a more direct game plan, its certainly going to be interesting. Not sure if it will work IMO but losing Galea is a major blow.
Very good news regarding Watts in the 17!

| Josh is not 100% and will not be risked.
very pleased Watts is in the side, we might actually have an offloading game

| Quote: Mild Rover "Fisher comes in from the cold, throwing away his blanket and bovril to stymy (sp?) young Hodgson's development.
Think the 17 is pretty clear with the last 3 listed competing for the interchange hooker/utility role.'"
Beat me to it.
Still, he can keep Mills company. Do we think Mills will get more than 4 appearances from a possible 54 over his 2 year deal if Watts is ahead of him and Clinton's on his way?

Don't be such a drama queen - you're playing a team worse than FC.

Yes but it's the detrimental effect on the points scored, which against the poor sides like Salford and Hull FC we need to capitalise on. At the end of the season in the shake up with the better sides it may prove vital.

Of no concern to me. Our season will have been over 5 months ago.

| Quote: Larry Billey "Webster at stand off must rank with some of the most mis-guided selections of all time, inc Morgans own Mansson to centre, Hulls Briscoe on the wing, GBs Horne on the wing, Roger Millwards Kerry Boustead at full back etc etc..
Morgan is like one of those people who veer between genius and madness, capable of some great things, yet some rank awful ones as well..
I await Sunday with interest, but have been watching RL more than long enough to realise Jake will never make a stand off as long hes got the proverbial....has not increased my optimism for our chances this season at all..'"
Still of the same opinion? Perhaps Jake will have trouble on the pot tonight?

| Yes, still of the same opinion, Jake never really had to get his hands too dirty with Cooke dominating like he did. A reasonable win against poor opposition doesnt really tell us a great deal about the season ahead, and think there is some over excitement and over reading of the game..
One thing we do know is that Rovers are going to be competitive and have a good spirit, but the real test will come against quality oppostion when our pack is on the back foot...

Far comment. I'm not in the "over excited" camp as I thought we should have gone on to put 50+ on them after such a fantastic start. The signs were encouraging, no more. However, Jake at SO gave us options which never existed last season. I'm looking forward to him running at Tompkins on Friday night.

| it was an encouraging start i thought, could have scored more yes, but it was the first proper game, Salford would have fancied there chances seeing how we hadnt gone well pre season, but i agree with the above, Wigan and Hudds will be sterner tests, but lets see how we do before writing the team off already.....
