| Quote: Newton-Le-willows-Warrior "the only reason you like wigan is because youve got that bluddy pub on the corner which is named after the robin! i may see a few of you lot in there for a beer before the game- cant usually miss me, im the one with the drum ( i.e was on the telly in edinburgh whilst on the phone)
i can see there being a good attendance on with a few of the wigan casuals coming out now we're in a bit of form!
could be a classic!'"
Your the wan*er with the drum!
Love that chant, makes me giggle.

I must admit I haven't travelled to many away matches for about 20 years but the chance of Rovers being top of the league on Friday night means that it's a match I can't miss- has anyone looked in the history books to note the last time we topped the league - probably not since we were champs in 1985 I'm guessing but perhaps I'm mistaken? I'm looking forward to my first visit to the JJB (or is the the Dave Whelan stadium now?)- where's the place to park?
That big long (oh look at me i've supported them since i was a nipper) and you make such an error! can't be that much of a fan to forget going top in our first SL season can we..

the wit shown there is supreme.
i'm one rovers fan who doesnt bang on about away support. I've been to rovers when we've had 2,000-3,000 at a home game nevermind away.

We were the Rovers fans wearing the grass hula skirts and had a huge George cross flag with Hull Kingston Rovers emroidered accross the middle, boy what a weekend!!, does anyone remember that huge disco with a dance floor which apparently was the size of a football pitch, the noise in there that night with all the Wigan and KR fans singing was something i shall remember for ever.
Strange this should come up, as I was clearing out a cupboard the other night I found some photos we took that weekend, remember some of our (Wigan) fans 'holding up' one of those horse drawn trams on the seafront whilst wearing Dick Turpin masks shouting " stand and deliver " at the driver, it never stopped raining and they were selling plastic 'pacamac's' outside the ground, half the crowd looked like giant condoms. The night club was bouncing and both sets of fans got on really well, great weekend and it left me with 'soft spot' for Rovers since then, safe journey down on Friday, should be a great game.

What a weekend that was.
My son had been born on the 14th August and the game was on the 25th. Mrs Rogue kindly let me attend.
Wetting his head began on the coach to the ferry.
On arrival at the hotel our bags were "dropped" in the foyer and we headed for the bar. A mate of mine who had played bass in the same band as me previously was over there doing a gig that night, so he asked us to go and see him.
By about 3 a.m. I was (so I'm told) taking photographs of the hotel ceiling. I have never been so drunk in my life.
Next day as we walked up to the game, my mates decided to call in for a pint. I walked into the pub and immediatley walked out again to sit on the wall. To this day my mates said I was the colour of the traffic light (green).
My game time I was feeling better, a couple of bacardis helped.
At night we went to that disco you described. The fans of both sides were fantastic together.
Happy days.

| Been a while since I've looked forward to a big Friday night game at the JJB as much as this, there's a nice healthy rivalry after you guys did us twice in 07.
Hopefully a big crowd and a rocking atmosphere with a close Wigan win
It's not often I go in The Red Robin for pint - poor pint - only when there's a good away following coming to town with some good banter... Rovers, FC and Saints. See ya there

We did our bit (as always), what happened to the mass of Wigan fans? Very disappointing.

| There wasn't really a mass of Hull KR fans either. Made a lot of noise though.

I must have blinked and missed the Wigan fans in the JJB toneet. If you refering to the Robin it is not a pub of choice really for Wigan fans because it's not a pub. Its a glorified restaurant. If you want sommat eat then beltin.....
