Almost. Withers has JUST finally found a bit if form so would class as Jury being out. And keep Mika for same resdon and not a lot of other options.
Add to that to sign Luke George. Disco Dave will only kast anothet seadon or two and Caro wad a wsste of money.
FWIW Some that might be useful...
Ryan Bailey
Frankie Mariano (again)
Scott Taylor (again)
Ryan McGoldrick (just because he's a bit of an animal)

| Think Mika & Cox are playing themselves towards new deals. Not sold on Carlile.

The OCC list isn't very inspiring.
Comparing the players we released & those we signed I just can't work out how we're so close to the cap. Something not right there
You have to remember upgrades to existing contracts.
The main factor though, I'd assume, will be that talent drain to Australia, has had an inflationary effect on wages here. A £60k player becomes an £85k player without any improvement, for example, as SL clubs compete over a diminishing resource.
The same money a little bought less in 2013 than in 2012 and I suspect it'll be less again in 2014.

Withers would become classed as quota if we were to offer him another deal, so that will rule him out. Mika has found some form of late, but he needs to keep it up for a longer period to convince me that he's worthy of a quota spot.
Luke George didn't convince me that he's worth a deal in the short spell he was here. Alex Brown is a better player.
Of the others you mention, both Bailey and Taylor are contracted next year (the list via the link is incorrect), we have better than Mariano within our own ranks and I assume you threw in McGoldprick for comedy value.
I would make a play for Dale Ferguson however. As long as he didn't grow the daft ponytail back.

I dont remember saying we are a top 4 club, although I dont think we are far off, 6th last year and our squad is better than last year.
We will see if we are evenly matched at the end of the year, I think we will finish 5th (32 points, 6 wins 3 losses) and you 8th (26 points, 4 wins, 5 losses).

All very true MR, but given that we released McDonnell, Sheriff, Webster, Green, Clinton, Wheeldon, Watts, Taylor, Galea, Murrell & Petersen & signed Eden, Caro, Brown, Gleeson, Burns, Tuimavave, Walker & Paterson there just looks more than £70k difference to me (assuming we were running at full cap in 2012) even accounting for upgrades.

| I think Mika is worth another 12 months, if we don't I think he'll get another club quite easily as he still has potential and is showing signs of improvement.
As has been said Ferguson would be good value but not a lot of others on there that catch the eye.

| Like Lovegrove has made a strong case for the left side, Mika has done the same down the middle. He's been very good recently. Instead of trying to make him into something he's not (80min), he's far more effective in his current role.
Whether he's worth the quota/non fed spot, is relative to who's actually available these days I guess. Seeing as [i'if' [/i rumours are to be believed the likes of Paea and Patterson maybe leaving one way or the other, we're likely to have spaces to fill anyway. That being the case we'd do well to find two players filling the void they'd leave, never mind possibly having three players/slots to fill. Of course we don't have to fill them, but I'd be surprised if we didn't.
Luke George could be an option should we decide against retaining Latus/Brown and decide Caro doesn't have a future. I'd keep Brown and imagine we will offer him a deal. George wasn't ace at centre but as a winger may do better. A combo from the likes of Gleeson/Welham/Hall/Salter (even Heil if retained/develops) should see the centre spots covered in a perfect injury free world. But injury doubts over Gleeson/Welham and even Hall and D. Hodgson are far from fit half the time, I’ve convinced myself George may be worth an offer. He would add to our former Huddersfield quota spots too, and fill the void Petersen left in the hair department. (We must still have a few of those dreadful wigs we bought) Adding Ferguson to our Huddersfield quota would be a bonus too and whilst we're at it we should definitely look to keep Horne as well.

You must be paying a massive wedge for the 3 overseas players

couldn't care less where you are tbh, was just making the point that there are some good players on that list who would do a very good job
