| I do have a little sympathy for butler fleming but... to be honest I'm beginning to think butler Fleming is a waste of salary space and quota space. I said last season rover's need to get value for money on salary cap and on whole we are but I know butler Fleming can't help been injured but thing is where do you draw the line?

Well so far he makes Campese look like the world 2015-16 Iron man winner.
He's supposed to be back for the middle 8s. Let's hope he's ok and can make a big contribution.

| It wouldn't be Rovers if we didn't have at least one player out for the majority of the year.

He tried angling on the virtual terrace forum earlier thankfully I resisted biting.although maybe by mentioning it now I'm hooking myself?..I found myself doing similar on their page but was self aware enough to cease as I realised it was a bit sad.

| Any angler worth his salt will tell you that over baiting will put the fish off.
Just the stupid one's carry on throwing in.

| re. Heffernan,From Hull KR website..."The club’s top try-scorer this season has since seen a specialist this week and has been cleared of any major damage, although he must pass the mandatory Return to Play protocols before being eligible for selection after also suffering a concussion in the same incident."

Tim Sheens is on record as saying that Butler-Fleming and Heffernan are on very modest wages indeed at Rovers in fact he used the term 'peanuts'. They are here for the opportunity, hope to impress and get a better deal at Rovers or elsewhere in 2018.
It's fair to say Rovers are getting tremendous value out of Heffernan and may yet do likewise with Jake Butler-Fleming. The salary cap doesn't really come into it, they barely make a dent in it. In any case even after Johnson & Dockar-Clay, Rovers are still a long way short of maximum cap.
Butler-Fleming did have an injury when Rovers signed him but he is now looking strong in training and isn't too far away. Rovers are being cautious and the 'back for middle 8's story was just to take the heat off him. He's a good player who will make a difference so if he is part of a strong Rovers team at the business end no one will be too bothered that he didn't feature early on, especially as the team has won every game without him.

I spoke to Jake B-F a few weeks ago and he said he had started his 'pre-season' and hoped to make his debut over Easter. As far as I know he has had no reaction to the injury.
I also spoke to Mitch Clark and he's also hoping to make an appearance over Easter.
One thing that is very clear is that Sheens will not rush back or risk players. His focus is on having as many fit & healthy players for the Mid8s. The decision not to manage Lawler's injury, preferring surgery in the knowledge the player will recover in time for the Mid8s, is a prime example of this.
