| Rovers need to smarten up down the middle if they are to beat Warrington. Larroyer made a big difference last week against Wigan but how do Rovers deal with Clark. We don't have a player anywhere near him in our squad. If we can stop him tearing us apart down the middle then we have a chance.
Looking at the squad, even though Carlile is included I think Chester will go with the 17 that faced Wigan. The question for me is will Horne be able to repeat his heroics in the 9 role? I've no concerns over French John, he is coming along nicely, his stamina will develop as the season progresses but it is obvious we are in desperate need of a lead 9.

I wonder how much mcshane would cost us from Wakefield he would be the perfect foil for French John, and a realistic target before anybody says so would Cameron Smith

I don't think we should be rushing to find a hooker unless there is another Clark out there. What we lost with Josh was a quality defender in the heart of the pack. We do appear to have three very good playmakers on the pitch so all we need is someone to get the ball away from the ruck. I would let French John & Carlile find there feet & develop & we have seen Grahame Horne can be put in there to bulk up te defence if needed.

McShane showed us up the other week, his link with Godinet especially, so yes he would be a very good signing. Not so sure Webbo would allow him to go but Wakey's chairman might be receptive.
If there is no one else available, I would go for Kaye at Fax. He played solid against us in the friendly, ran rings round Carlile (who doesn't), and against Leigh the other week he played exceptionally well.
I don't know about anyone else but Maurice Blair looks as though he could take on the 9 role; he has all the skill sets and has presence about him.
However, as far as I am aware there is no panic to bring someone in. I know Connor Robinson is very highly thought of and has started light training. Maybe the coaching staff are biding there time for when he is available for selection. IMO Cockayne and Horne are not the answer - stop gaps maybe.

Agree with all of this, apart from Blair I think we should leave him in the back row, he is going well in there and we would be short of options at the minute without him there, I also think with the injuries were short of options at prop a injury to walker or allgood and we would be in trouble

| Only dipped in and out of the commentary, but sounded like Rovers had a decent crack at it, but are maybe still a bit rough around the edges.
Bottom, but having played 3 of the 'big 4' in our first 4, I'm not too worried. Just need to cut down on the errors and make sure we get some results against the other teams 'chasing 8th'.

| Gutted, but at least it was close. The effort was there from the boys.

I listened to the radio commentary as well and it seems we played with guts and character. Sounds like our error count in the first half gifted them far too much possession and this finally told in the latter stages. Hopefully those that were at the game will give us a better insight.
I get the feeling that there will be tons of upsets this year week in and week out.

| Also met some very nice Wire fans in't boozer prior to the game.
We were much, much better defensively today, despite conceding six tries. Adam Walker is back to his best, Campese is a real proper general and the team looks really united. Kris Welham has rightly come in for severe criticism over the last couple of years but he was very good today, quality centre play gave Mantellato his tries. He unfortunately did still manage his trademark awful jump out of the line for one of the Wire scores, I didn't want to mention that but it has to be.
Boudebza also really impressed and with Horne again going well I can't see a way back in for Carlisle.
The game turned in the first half on Cockayne's terrible offload attempt that led to a try, Mantellato kicking the re start out on the full and another try.
We gave it a crack and it was an enjoyable game when I expected to get spanked.
Just a little mention for Larroyer, love this kid who seems to be really enjoying being at the club.

| Good effort from your lads today. Nobody is going to go to Wire and have an easy game so full marks.
