| 10 degrees would probably be colder than any day here for the last 10 years.
I think we used to get down to those temps during the day when i was a kid, but not for a long time.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| For the last two years it's regularly touched minus ten at my house during the winter.

I've never been anywhere that has had minus temperature - can't even imagine what that's like - but i suppose you've never been in 40+ either.

May come as a shock Roopy but we actually have airplanes near where we all live. I was once in Turkey and it was 50+, quite unbearable I had to sit in the shaded bar drinking beer most of the afternoon!
Eygpt is another place I have visited which is very hot.

We never leave the country, because everywhere else is just dissappointing after you have lived here.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

I ski all the time.
Can't work out that snow skiing business though - I mean, how do you get the boat to the top of a mountain?

All those continents out there, you should try them, travel broadens the mind. The only ones I've not visited are Australia and Antarctica. Wouldn't fancy visiting anywhere inhospitable but am looking forward to going to Antarctica

I lived in Israel for a while, on the Sea Of Galilee which is the second lowest place on earth after the Dead Sea, you notice that the air is thicker at first.
Luckily I moved there in January so I had time to acclimatise as I was working outdoors and by July it was nudging forty, I then went on holiday to The Sinai and it was forty plus there but there was a bit of a breeze so it wasn't too bad.
I like the cold, it's good fun getting all kitted up for a hike in the snow. I was out a couple of years ago and went to walk down a little gully and I sunk up to my armpits in a drift of snow. I know most of the Rovers players that have come over have never seen snow before, I think it was Blake Green that got a bit of a shock last year!

| I've never seen snow myself, but we do have snowfields in a place we call the Snowy Mountains (don't know where that came from).
Very few people know that we have snow every 5 years or so within 15 kilometres of Newcastle at a place called Barrington Tops, which is appaently the only place in Australia where you can stand in snow and see the Pacific Ocean - my brother and his wife camped there last weekend - no snow of course.
The Australian snowfields are pretty popular, but the people i talk to about them seem to enjoy the drugs and the hookups most of all.

| Next challenge:
Back to the original teams. Pick your own captains. Each has 100 currency units (cu).
Part 1. You have to place 2 bets on sporting events of your choice that take place this weekend (the 19th and 20th). Each bet has to be of 10cu or more. Captains, please PM me your bets by Friday at this time. The amount you wish to wager and a link to the odds available with an online bookmaker. No accumulators or anything like that. If you win, it'll be up to you to supply evidence of the result - so I'd stay away from anything really obscure. When I have the bets from both teams, I'll put them on here, so you can look out for the results over the weekend, if you like.
On Monday I'll calculate each teams new cu total.
That will then be available for part 2 - a single further and final bet to be placed next week. Details on Monday.

| Can I just check, do we have to have our bets in by a particular time on Friday?
Edit. Just read the above post properly.
