| IMO the teams have different agendas this year. For rovers its keeping away from the bottom which I think they will. For us it's a top 4/5 finish again which I hope we will do. I think you may turn Leeds over at the weekend. Big test for us. Just glad the rugby is up and running

| I watched the game again last night and tried to watch it objectively.
I wouldn't say it was quite as simple as Hull's size and power vs Rovers' free flowing rugby, but Hull were definitely more direct in their approach. We looked to set a platform before getting it to Sneyd and Connor who were mostly looking for the second rows and centres to run a nice line for them. We did try to play rugby, it wasn't just 5 drives and a kick, but it was all quite compressed, we didn't get the wingers involved very much at all.
Rovers tried to move the ball a lot. The problem with that is that if you don't go forward first and draw in some defenders it's very hard to break a team down like that. Other than the tries you scored you didn't have us scrambling too often. We broke the line more often than you did.
The missed penalty was a big moment of course, but none of us have a crystal ball so it's impossible to say what would have happened afterwards.
Both teams played to their strengths and it was a very entertaining game. In the end Hull's quality shone through, but you should take a lot of positives from the game too.

| I see Chicken Satae (who lived up to his nickname with a cowardly late hit) has copped a 3 game ban. This type of thuggery needs stamping out of the game.
Nothing (so far) for Jamie Ellis - amazing given the weight of evidence presented via social meda yesterday. I was expecting him to be at the Old Bailey today...

He knew exactly what he was doing. Thought live it was a card The next 3 opponents benefit. If the ball was just gone then similar to Tickle on Taylor few year back you say it's tough brutal but fair hit. That ball was shipped on and Settee can pull out rather than hit the limp relaxed back. Don't think anyone can argue with that one? From players point of view it's as cowardly as it gets

One possible curiosity about match bans now...
Albert Kelly got a 2 game playing in the reserves which applied to SL.
Do SL bans apply to the other comps? And does this mean that you spend your penalty by not playing in those lower tier matches?
Taken to a hypothetical extreme, could an academy-eligible player pick up a 3 game ban from a Friday SL game, miss an academy game, reserves game and a game with a dual-reg partner and be back for SL the Sunday of the following week? The dual reg one feels unlikely, but the others not so much.
The reserves is the important one, and clubs would soon be making sure those fixtures fall between the disciplinary and next SL game.
Maybe it’d make sense to ban players for periods of time, rather than for games.

| Does seem the bans are harsher than season's before? Or just normal for us

I think it's only one game a week. Reserves games and academy games do count towards bans but only if there is no first team game that week.
I have been saying for a while that to avoid any confusion/loopholes the bans should be timed rather than number of games. For example, Satae committed his offence on the weekend ending 9th Feb so he can't play any rugby until after 1st March.

It was accidental, he even said so to the rovers supporting Robert Hicks.

I have said on the FC forum, as an fC fan, it was malicious and he had plenty of opportunitynottoshove a defenseless player, three mqtches seems extreme, but it deserved at least one match. Had it been a KR player on an FC player we'd be building the gallows in Wzlton Street car park.
