| There was a choice to be made. Field a weakened team today against the nearest opposition in our league, or go full tilt today and end up with half a squad available for the Leigh game. The other sub plot here is the anti tampering deadline, where if we show we are currently in a position to match a current SL side, some players who may have their head turned may think twice.

Yes I agree again. So who will finish 9th?Salford have the points in the bank but I still think they are vulnerable .If not then one of saints cats wakey or warry? Hull are capable of an implosion but got Leigh today at the right time.As much as I'd like them to bomb I concede it's unlikely.

| Obviously a long way to go but at the bottom end of SL, I'd agree Widnes look near certainties for the middle 8s, with Hudds and Leigh probables. Then I think it could be anyone of three or four, just depending on injuries as much as anything. That's part of why I think the 8s won't last much longer - even a half decent team can get dragged in. And if they're scrapping to the end while Widnes are saving their strength...

| Sounds like we put up a gutsy and spirited display against Toulouse today. A 14 - 6 loss is not too shabby or maybe I am overestimating Toulouse. Didn't go and didn't listen due to family up for Easter.
If anyone did, how did JBF go on debut, Wardill on his return and Docker-Clay in the halves?
Would we have beaten them with a stronger and more experienced side out? Did we ask enough questions offensively?

Only listened but by the sounds of it we could have won it had chances wardill played well by all accounts JBF did ok and DC seemed very lively at full strength I think we'd have won easily

| It was a good day out in the sun for the 800+ fans who travelled but it was an uninspired performance. JBF was anonymous on debut but the best in a Rovers shirt was Will Jubb, with a good return also from Joe Wardill.
Great weekend had by all and we are still at it.

Ditto.
The fringe took their opportunities and it was a good debut by JBF and comeback by Joe Wardill.
IMO Charlie, Clarkson & Abdull were major fails in the 1st half. Abdull must have had a rocket from Sheens at half-time, instead of making 5-10m from penalty kicks he was making 20-30m.
The team lacked leadership and that has to be credited to Sheens resting so many, why, so he can test the squad against SL opposition?

This is my opinion, JBF showed enough to see he is worth the wait. Playing at centre is not his preferred position but he looked solid and will be better for the outing. Joe Wardill also impressed with a couple of telling runs and in defence. If anything Dockar-clay was guilty of trying too hard, but at least he was trying. The lack of cohesion between ZDC & Abdull was a major factor in poor execution.
Would we have won with a stronger team, TBH I wasn't impressed with Toulouse, there's probably a case for complacency on their part, but yes Rovers would have won the game comfortably with 2-3 first graders.
Overall, it was a gutsy performance with the fringe players not letting themselves down, unlike at least 3 of the senior players who continued where they left off against Fev. There again I'm biased I wouldn't have them in my starting line up per se.

| I think you'll give them a good game, you need a full 80 performance (stating the obvious!), you getting any injured players back that will go straight in?

Thanks Paul. I have just watched the entire game on Hull KR.TV and your synopsis above is right on the money.
It was a poor game. We had a dig but never looked like winning the game tbh as we we posed few questions offensively and lacked attacking cohesion as you say. Defensively we were very good though and played with a lot of guts and spirit.
Toulouse were really nothing special apart from Ford, but certainly looked tired. Rob Chadwick was very disparaging about them in commentary and rightly so. Shame we fielded such a young and inexperienced side, as with another 3 or 4 senior players we would have won and would be 11 from 11 now. Still the fans had a good time in the sun and in TS we trust.
