Assuming our current back three crisis is going to resolve itself before the 8s, then an organising hb would be ideal. They're hard to find at the best of times, though. A Kolpak backrower, who can give us some much-needed strike and allows Blair to play stand-off might be more realistic. De-registering Campese gives us a non-fed spot, but not a full quota place - I think.

Jamie Soward? I reckon the Hardaker / Segeyaro deal might make him available immediately.

Dane Chisholm has a French passport

Chisholm did just enough to warrant bringing him over last year, but not by much. Middle 8s will be tougher this year. He adds an extra body but not much more quality imo.

Going to take a few seasons to get this right, Mike Smith is a major factor of this and IMO is stealing a living from our club. He was the one dealing with these deals ie money and contract lengths. Same as what Mcrea did at Hull and look how long its taken them to resolve that.

I think most of us would be ok with it taking a few seasons if we could see progression. With the current way the league is small changes can make a big difference.

Getting the correct coach is vital and can't be rushed. having to change coach every 18 - 24 months isn't helping the club or players, we need some stability in the club like we had when Justin Morgan was in charge. All gone down hill since his departure and our signings.
