| Quote: barham red "He's got no pace and is finished, never cut it in super league. He was also going to Wigan once the last bit was proved to be rubbish. All this was common knowledge.
As PR said all speculation is just that pure speculation and secondly did you manage to ejaculate into your pants quite so hard when Luke Walsh got injured or is it just our half back you seem pleased to see injured.'"
Along with Mrs B's damp undies, Wilf's computer steaming with him waiting to do a book on Campo's injury and the usual suspects in meltdown it must be a pretty messy place on the forum above.

| It appears some say get rid of him now, some say there's no sentiment in sport, some believe he will never put on a Rovers shirt again and some feel it's only a matter of time before it happens again.
You're all probably right in some capacity to think along these lines.
In response I would say you should consider this - We are a Rugby League club and NOT a football club. We are Hull KR, a family orientated neighbourhood club run by half decent people who have integrity. East Hull people who have been brought up to believe that a deal is a deal, even though some people like Ryan Bailey, Neville Costigan, several others and their agents have difficulty with this concept. Therefore we owe it to Campo to see if he is true to his current aspiration of full recovery and playing again next year. If we cut and run from his deal now, it would say To him that we don't believe him and our player loyalty ethos and his recent extended contract equate to political spin and a work of fiction respectively.
I think it's likely we will bring in a more junior replacement and it may reshape our marquee player thinking. It's also possible that we may realign the value of his contract to reflect his likely absence period.

I may be wrong but didn't you get rid of James Webster mid season due to a shoulder injury? I also remember you sacking Taulapapa off before the season even started because your new coach decided he didn't want him.

A good well constructed post, most of which I would say probably reflects the thoughts of the majority of Rovers fans at this club regarding Terry Campese.

| Get well soon Terry, I hope to see you turning out in the Red & White in 2016.
Even if the worst comes to the worst, I still feel privileged to have seen you play. A great player and an even greater man.
Shame on those who consider his injury an opportunity to score petty points. You know who you are.

Spot on Stan echoes most people's thoughts

| I echo the above. Was thinking today hope we've not seen the last of him as he's the best player I've seen in a rovers shirt in super league. Roopy said something along the lines he's like dobbo but twice as good before he signed. Didn't believe when he said it but the guy was right. If we're seen him in the twilight of his career how good was he in his prime?

| Gutted by this news, as much for the stellar gentleman that is Terry Campese in fact more so than not having the pleasure of watching him play.
It's been an honour, I'm struggling to think of a single Rovers player in my lifetime that's had the sheer time on the ball and understanding of Campese, even if his career turns out to have been these fifteen games for us.
We've had off the cuff types, step up Stan, but for ultimate game management and clear quality of thought, I can't think of better. I'm not old enough to have seen Sir Roger play.
Hope to goodness he can come back, but there's life after Rugby League for people as intelligent as him and he needs to be able to walk first and foremost, let's not forget that.

| Great shame to lose him out of our game because he is quality to watch.
He has similar qualities to Jason Smith who was very good for us, certain players just seem to have time with the ball while the world stops for them.

| Hope to see him back next season as he was a pleasure to watch and dispelled the myths that he was finished its great to watch the off the cuff style players like kelly and Stan but to watch somebody control a game like campese is even better in my mind I haven't seen that since watching Gavin Miller as a kid

| Sounds like he went OK for you guys.
I thought he would, largely because he was amazing in reserve grade when he was younger, handing out master classes every week.
I thought the little bit of extra time he would get in ESL would let him show his skills, not that he didn't have a lot of good games in the NRL, but some players drop in standard in lower grades, and he looks better the more time he gets.
He has had some major injuries in the past, and he comes back from injury pretty well. He is a pro and will do all the rehab and look after himself well.
It's a shame he gets these injuries. He would have played a lot of games for NSW and Australia if he didn't.
It's also a shame that Ricky Stuart wouldn't let him play for Italy in the last World Cup. Italy had quality forwards and backs and I think they would have finished 4th if they had Campese in the halves.
