| Quote: Red & White "1-You didn't draw level fair and square at all. You were lucky with the Yeaman try as that could easily have been chalked off. We all know the last try should have been chalked off too. Admitted by the RFL.
2-Don't know how many times you need telling but fc were NOT robbed last year,as it didn't lose you the game,
Unfortunatly forward passes get missed every week, The fact is your players couldn't catch/tackle Hodgson and that cost you the game.
3-Hardly our problem if Holdsworth missed a conversion.
1) Of course rovers didnt have a single dubious penalty they scored from in the entire game (I can think of 2)
2) From this, is it fair to infer that had Green's Try not been the last FC score of the game you'd not all now be hypocritically bleating about how unfair everything is? (in stark comparison to last year when almost to a man Rovers fans thought it was was hilarious. (see the Ganson Legend avatar etc).
3) Hardly our problem Ganson bolloxed the decision.

| I've just been reminded that after last year's game NH actually rang in to Blunderside to advise FC fans to focus on our own team's shortcomings and not the controversial decision.
Maybe he should be following his own advice this year?

| You KR fans need to move on or its going cost you more than a possible 2 points, your going to be sulking for the rest of the season "saying what if we had got them 2 points" move on now it was a very poor decision which cost you a probable 1 point, possibly 2 but as the saying goes its old news now you have a hard game to get over this weekend best look forward not back, Sandy needs to get the level of effort from a group of players who only want to clock on for certain games of the season , spend a bit of time thinking about that instead of this game, its not going to change now, now a part of the rugby league history between 2 great clubs

| Quote: Ian P "We all see bad decisions every weekend, most balance out some don't and this one never will. It was a bad decision and I think nearly everyone at Red Hall has said that, we need to change the way our officials are chosen, trained, supported and help improve the games image.'"
I think there needs to be a serious investigation and consequences for that VR decision. At worst, it looks extremely fishy. At best it was gross incompetence. His position is untenable IMO and an example needs to be shown to referees, fans, coaches and players that that level of gross incompetence cannot and will not be tolerated.
Quote: Ian P "I have been with some RFU mates and they are laughing their heads off at the way our sport lurches from one crisis to the next. The sport is seen as amatuer and second rate by many and stunts like this go a long way in enforcing that stereotype.'"
Fans of rugby union are hardly in a position to mock out sport for going through different crises. Nor many other sports (football, cricket, cycling, boxing...) so please don't do the typical RL fan "out game is a laughing stock to the outside world" chip-on-shoulder pessimistic rubbish. It's a (really bad) ref's call. It's not like we've fixed a match, had a huge drug scandal for the top players, etc.

1 crisis to the next eh!
Has RL ever had a crisis has bad as the pre-meditated scandal which was blood gate and only this weekend a top RU international calls the ref a cheat, you need to tell your mates to look closer to home.

| Quote: Mild Rover "The 'pragmatist' paragraph, I agree with completely.
I'm not a fan of Jon Sharp, after his 'friends at Hull FC' comment in 2007 - but what else can he say about this? Is there a fuller explanation, beyond human (very poor) error?
Whether we need to move more from respect to performance assessment - maybe we need more of the latter, but it is crucial we retain the former.'"
Whichever way you look at it, this bizarre attack on Jon Sharp and thrusting of the RFLs apologies back down their throats can only be viewed as another example of your Chairfan's increasingly worrying lack of diplomacy.
He'll gain nothing but arm's-length distrust and dislike from the RFL from this. Coupled with his other misguided paroxyms in the media recently, particularly his astonishing public references to your coach's future, he's becoming an albatross. I'm genuinely coming to the conclusion that, sadly after all he's done (and it IS very sad) it is he that is becoming the liability he's accusing everyone else of being.
Time to go.

This is it.
I got texts from FC mates assuming I was fuming at the decision but to be honest, I just sat there in shock (as I would have had it happened in any other game not involving either team) and since then I've just shrugged it off because it's laughable.
I've now come to the conclusion that the game as a whole in completely incapable of managing itself from top to bottom, dare I say it because our Northern routes and insular nature towards our game; i.e. most of us follow the clubs we love because our parents did and our grandparents did before that and that's all we see regardless of how intelligent and articulate many of the RL community may be.
I actually don't feel any malice towards Ganson either, because he's just an idiot.

| Quote: Gavin Miller - Legend "Have to agree.
No need to take a shot at Jon Sharp.'"
There is mate.
During Sharp's post match interview as Hudds coach after Hudd's win against us back in 2007 after Cooke's debut, the morale thing to do would have been to distance himself from the inflammatory situation between the clubs at the time (considering he was Hudds coach at the time so therfore not involved with either club) yet he chose to voice his black and white allegiance - even dedicating the win to a black and white fan.
Jon Sharp is a failed "coach", a failed "Football Operations Manager" and now he's a failed "Head of Match Officials" so him and his black and white allegiance.
