Quote: Mrs Barista "Just don't get all this negativity on here. Come on, Rovers finished 4th in the regular season and are playing the vast majority of the side that got them there tomorrow adding in only top drawer youth. FC finished 12th, have just brought in a load of pension-seekers, have made wholesale changes and have never played a competitive game together, new SH, new centre, new prop, 2 new 2nd rowers effectively. Plus Rovers have the edge by far in derbies. Why are people making out it should be an FC win?
So who do you think will win Mrs? icon_cool.gif

should be an interesting game, Hull have new players who may take time to gel, a new player directing the shots, maybe some new plays to try out too, where'as not much has changed from Rovers point of veiw,
if the new players dont go too well, or the new plays Hull try dont come off will the fans start to get on there backs??? in a friendly??? there's so much expectations been put on them this year what if they fail??? will Rovers regret replacing all those experienced players with young kids??? and will David Mills ever break a sweat nevermind a tackle??? lol

This is correct which is why I am slightly surprised by the negativity from the Rovers fans about the game. Hulls main pivot is making his debut so partnerships need to be built in a match situation whereas Rovers could start with their first choice halves!

Regards over analysing the pressure on Hull to perform. Most are fully aware that it will take time for them to gel as a team simply because of the high turnover of players. If anybody expects a grand final esque performance then they really dont know their rugby!

Injuries aside I think both sides will benefit alot from tomorrows hit out.

Looking at it from the opposite side I'm surprised so many FC fans are expecting Rovers to be smashed in the forwards... I don't see FC forwards as anything other than 10 min' wonders! icon_cool.gif
Of course time will tell. Hope both teams remain injury free!

There will be more debutants and positional switches in the Rovers side than Hulls..

I don't care if you hammer us if we pick up no injuries. Have to say I don't like the look of the weather and it could be a heavy pitch tomorrow which is no good to anyone.

Tomorrow is about raising a few quid for a Hull lad who has done well and shown loyalty. Big well done to rovers for putting aside the bad feeling between the clubs to support a Hull lad.

Anyone who gets excited about winning tomorrow needs to get a grip

Spot on.

Just have a feeling though that there will be at least one player get injured tomorrow, it always seems to happen in preseason. Lets just hope not, and the result is irrelevant to me.

eusa_clap.gif I concur, tomorrow is all about raising money for a player who has given his all for his club and overcome a serious injury to boot. I think no injuries for either side is the number 1 priority for both coaches although some of the players may have some pent up aggression to get rid of on the pitch.

Another negative slant from you RBA! As Jake says the result is not the most important thing from tomorrows game more the benefits of getting the players conditioned and hopefully no injuries. Both coaches have picked ALL available first team players which is great for Horney, what the coaches do in the 80 is down to them.

It pains me to say this but personally because it's Richard Horne's Testimonial and being played at the KC, I can't see past a Hull win.

I'd say he was being factual rather than negative. Hull have 5 debutants Rovers have 7 and Hull have a squad of 20 Rovers have a squad of 26. So i would say RBA makes a valid point wouldn't you??

What is negative about it? I think that it is a good thing that Justin may experiment positionaly with a few players aswell as handing debuts to numerous players. Can only be a good thing long term for Rovers.
Surprised Agar isnt taking the same opportunity with Kent, Briscoe, Tuffour, Aldous, Nicklas etc.

Perhaps the win has more emphasis on Mr Agar then our very own Justin! icon_cool.gif

For me the most important points are a good hit out and the lack of injuries!

I am not surprised so much because Agar has only 2 pre season games to get the players match conditioned so giving players as much time tomorrow may be important.

Although we have picked 20 players Agar may keep a settled team for a large chunk of the game. He may not who knows? We may see Turner play stand off, Washy play hooker, it is pretty much guess work at moment.
