Tony Smith will be your best signing for many a year. He is great at revitalising a club, getting a solid game plan together that they have to buy into and playing at the right end of the table and winning more than you lose.
If he can do that for you lot then you will be in Ga Ga land, but I think he will do it for you.
I think you'll stay up now, and you'll have 4 or 5 seasons of lets say...enjoying watching your side.
If FC can keep progressing and Smith can bring something to you guys, then how great would it be to have another period like we had between 78-85.
Would be great for Rugby in this City and for the game in general.....and it would be nice to have some real opposition in the Derbys lol.
The only question mark with Smith is he seems to have a shelf life, whereby he feels he has to leave or the team and supporters tend to just fall out of love with him. Even after the success he brought Warrington their board was fed up to the back teeth with him by the time he did finally leave.
But I bet they appreciate what he did for them now when they look back.
So good luck with that one, but not too much of course. Just stay around 4th place for a few years and don't actually win anything proper.'"

Genuine question, how long has he signed for? Is it just till the end of the season or longer? |

I didn't realise that he'd said that pre match. That's good to know, as he is a magnificent coach with a great rugby league brain and man management skills, you only have to listen to players that have been coached by him to realise that. As I said earlier, I'd be amazed if the club didn't offer him a long contract which i'm equaly sure he'd love to sign if the conditions and circumstances are right and mutually agreeable. |

If he keeps us up, then i’d hope we’d offer him a deal. From his interviews, i’d be hopeful of him accepting it too.
Just have to wait and see for now.  |

Its interesting that he's made 3 loan signing in just a couple of days, was Sheens hands tied when it came to loans i wonder.
Shows to me that he not only knows whats needed but that he still has the contacts to get these deals done quickly too.

Thats's fair comment, but at the moment you have to go by the fact that Tony Smith has only been here a couple of weeks and already there's a noticeable difference to the way we play and attitude. The players he's brought in on loan will also, I believe make a difference. |
