| Regarding Finch, we all think he's nailed on us, and Wigan all think he's nailed on them lol. So it's just the waiting game until there's either an announcement at Craven Park or the DW.
Looking at it realistically, he's bound to go to Wigan, they can probably offer him more money, he'd be playing alongisde Hoffman and Lima who he has been with for a few years, and playing under McGuire, an ex coach of his. Only real pulling factors for Rovers are, I reckon him and Dobson will be a better pair than him and Tomkins (IMO, down to styles only) and him and Newton been "friends" and Morgan used to play with him.
Hope he signs for us, but at this present time I think Wigan will be his colours next year

personally, I hope we aren't putting all our efforts in just to sign finch, it's pretty clear we need a top class off half for next season and hope we have alternative plans if finch decides on wigan

| Read the melbourne newspapers, and listen what is been said in Melbourne, Finch has already agreed a deal with a super league club, and according to good sources in Australia, when i spoke to them over the weekend it almost looks certain he will be with the Robins next season, only players Storm are bothered about keeping are, Slater, Smith, Cronk, and Inglis.

don't get me wrong scott I'd be delighted if we do sign finch as he is just what we need, what I wouldn't want to see is finch turn us down for wigan then end up paying way over the odds for a lesser player because their agents get their heads together and hold us to ransom. For me its far better to go into negotiations with 2 or 3 players for that 1 spot and shop around

You may be right I certainly don't know.
But I believe Wigan operate under the same salary cap limits as Rovers so there is no reason they will be offering Finch more than Rovers.
And whereas Rovers might view Finch as important enough to make him their top earner would Wigan do the same?
We'll have to wait and see but I don't suppose you know any more than the rest of us.

The cap can be spread around in different ways though. Maybe Wigan would offer him more - who knows.
Que Sera Sera - if we sign him - great. If not, our recent form has shown it wouldn't be the end of the world if we don't.
