| Miller was already a seasoned campaigner when he came over to the UK and having captained Cronulla , so on that basis - I would go for Galea.
Interestingly, Gavin Miller's services were at one time wanted by our cross city rivals , but injury meant they never pursued his signature ( they've omitted to get that bit right with more recent players) and the rest they say is history.
Gavin used to attend the wednesday night Aussie rugby match screening at Tower and was always available for a Q&A session after the games.

| Miller wa indeed a fine footballer. However I still cant come to forgive him for playing in the 86 cup final. Clearly injured and should never have played. Its either blame him or the gentleman whose seats I sit in at Craven Park.

Injured in the warm up.
Millward made the call, a gamble that backfired but after the season he had produced one that Roger had to go with.

“We will not accept a top eight finish as a barometer of supposed success at any point in the future whilst I am the owner of this club.
Thats why you got the Bullet Agar...Adam Pearson wants winners...not useless gits like you.

True, wasnt he man of steel that year as well, you have to have your best 13 out there, even if 1 is a risk and you could still have won it if Dorahy had landed the touchline conversion.

| gavin miller is a legend and therefore is un-comparable, but i am really looking forward to see how the lurvegroove performs. if he continues in the same vein as the back end of last season we could have a big talent.

He will only improve with the quality around him, that was lacking in some areas last season.

I've told you this story before and its the absolute truth. I had an ex-directory phone on my desk and one day it rang. It was a chap called Gavin Miller asking to speak to Hull Director Mike Page. Page's number had the same first four numbers as mine but the last two where the other way round. He explained that he was looking to play in the UK and had been told that Hull FC were interested. I made sure he wrote my number down and asked him to ring back in 10 mins or so. I rang Pete Johnson to see if we would be interested and was told a definate yes. When Gavin rang back I told him that Hull FC were not able to offer any terms due to financial constraints but that our good friends from across the river would be able to accomodate him!. I got him to ring Pete and the rest they say is history.I told Mike Page what I had done and he went beserk!! This story is true and I like to think I played a big part in getting one the best Aussies ever to come to the UK.
Sometime later Gavin had played Saints on his own and Mike Page was a guest. At halftime someone remarked to Pagie what a good player Gavin was./ He agreed and I said "What a pity he can't use the phone properly" He totally lost it and they had to pull him off me
